Not every restoration is done for resale value,, and ours is costing less than my ram pickup cost. I have no idea what Mark charges other folks,, but he was nowhere near that 80-100,000 number for us. No even close. Maybe using it for the show helped.

Yes,,Mark "introduced" our GTS last season,,got 99% of the backstory correct,, and it's well underway,,,it was in season 12 episode 12,,,,hopefully more to come this season

Graveyard Carz shop in Springfield Oregon is closed because of intense smoke from the wildfires,, but worse yet, the fires are closing in fast on Springfield, and the entire western portion of the state. The shop is only a few miles away from.level 2 evacuation,,,its a bad bad situation up there...

Original trans,,,with correct dated 67 340,,,the trans was still with it, inside the garage, and the sequence number is stamped backwards and in reverse, Mark said they loaded the dies in the number punch backwards in the factory

my parents sat down together and ordered it new,, my mom insisted on a convertible and a 4 speed, and yes, she drag raced it at island dragway, with my dad as the "mechanic" ,, and she still has her trophies!

As far as we have understood,,our gts should appear in several episodes, as Mark is enthusiastic about being able to showcase things that they dont normally get to do, as so few Abody owners send cars to him for restoration. He has been more than supportive and eager to do an Abody,, just waited...

apologies for any duplicate unthreaded posts, I'm not good at this web stuff,,but it looks like the restoration is back in high gear, after a lot of parts searching , hopefully will have our GTS 340 4spd done by the end of the year,,,,

we have 875hp big blocks and haven't used the end gaskets in at least 20+years,,,we use the right stuff,,and it holds up to 8300rpm for 2000 laps on our race cars,,I've never seen, nor heard of it failing when used to fill the ends,,and we have cut manifolds, heads,,,,sometimes that right stuff...

keep looking! i found my mom's original 68 GTS that she bought new,,sold, and lost for 30 years,,when i found it, there was still little specks of her island dragway class winner stickers!
