    70-73 Swinger Trunk Stripe

I have a '73 Swinger and was wondering if the '70 trunk stripe decal would fit properly. They look like they have the same rear fenders/trunk. Thanks!

    What Is This?

I finally got around to replacing the bushings in my tailshaft weight. I thought I'd follow-up to share a link and picture of the hose I used. I purchased it from a local hose supplier. Thanks to "clhyer" for the tip! I cut the hose slightly longer than the inside diameter bushing so it would...

I think you are referring to the capacitor that is connected to the positive terminal on the coil. If so, you are correct. It is only to reduce radio interference. See below...

Steering doesnt return to center on its own

Being a remanufactured box, they are set to predetermined values and that sector shaft may be a bit too snug. It will feel good, but may cause premature wear and the problem your experiencing on the wheel not returning to center. If you mark it and slowly adjust it 1/4-1/2 turn at a time, you...

Steering doesnt return to center on its own

Check that the sector shaft adjustment is correct first. I've attached pictures below. Positive caster will aid in the wheel returning to center. Without aftermarket offset upper control arm bushings, you will be limited on your caster adjustment.

    power steering pump leaking?

Is it a Federal pump? I think it took three different re-manufactured ones for me to get one that didn't leak from the housing seal. If it is a Federal, don't stack seals on the cap or it won't vent off excess pressure, causing a leak.

    Steering Pump/Gearbox Help

The manuals I looked at showed the routing for all pumps except yours. I'm sure someone on this forum could take a picture of theirs and share it with you. You can get copies of most years/models here... MyMopar - Mopar Forums & Information - Service Manuals

    Steering Pump/Gearbox Help

That is a Saginaw 0.94 Power Steering Pump. They show the routing of the hoses in the service manual for all pump models except that one for some reason. I'll keep looking. The extension is an extra. This is the one NAPA lists for a Saginaw. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/PSK7610

    Too much fuel?

Here is the procedure to check your floats. The needle may not be sealing properly too. I would recommend a rebuild. It's pretty easy. Take pictures throughout the process.

    Too much fuel?

Brass floats can leak too. Did you rebuild the carb already and verify the float level?
  14. 73Swinger18

    Too much fuel?

Check your float level. Not sure if your carb has a plastic float or not. If so, it could be cracked and filling with fuel. May be worth buying a rebuild kit and going though it all.

    Too much fuel?

With a piston stop, you turn the crank until it touches the stop and mark the balancer. Turn it the other way until you hit the stop, make the balancer. Then, you mark right in between those two marks for your TDC. I have a 318 with 135 PSI cranking pressure and the same cam. I locked my...

    Too much fuel?

Correct. It would be a good idea to purchase a piston stop to verify the mark on your balancer. It threads into the spark plug hole.

    Too much fuel?

Sounds like you have the XE268H Comp cam. With the low compression, it won't run at lower RPM without a lot more timing. Crank it up.

    Too much fuel?

When you say it's timed to 8 degs, do you mean 8 degs BTDC? I'd increase it to 12-14 degs BTDC and make sure your idle in gear is between 700-800 RPM.

    Too much fuel?

Maybe your fuel delivery is fine and you're not getting ignition. Your coil, ECU, or ballast resistor could be failing. Have you tested the spark?
  24. 73Swinger18

    Too much fuel?

Did you verify TDC and get the distributor lined up right? Plug wires in the right order?
  25. 73Swinger18

    Too much fuel?

What kind of carb? Maybe your idle mixture screws are open too far. Try lightly seating them, then back them out 1.5 turns.
