[WANTED] Mock up big block wanted

I have a few big blocks laying in the shed. I just don't want to wrestle the heavy bastards around during mock up.

[WANTED] Mock up big block wanted

Does anyone have a molded big block for mock up that they want to sell or rent for a while? Preferably a B block but RB will work. Figure I would ask here before I buy a new one.

Looking for 74 Dart sport sheet metal

I am looking for sheet metal for my 1974 dart sport. I need the trunk floor pan, trunk extensions, and a LH front floor pan. Year One is 14-16 weeks out for sheet metal. Where is a good place to buy these pieces? Does anyone have anything laying around that they would want to sell?

    Christmas came early

3.23's are what I have currently. Once the car is on the road and I see how it drives I will probably do a swap. Not sure if I will go to 3.55, 3.73, or possibly 4.10 depending on how it drives and cruising rpms.

    Christmas came early

Yes sir, it is the TKX. Doesn't seem like there is much cutting involved. I will find out this winter and update as I go.

    Christmas came early

Tremec 5 speed conversion kit for my 74 Dart Sport showed up yesterday. Can't wait to get the car on the road one day. Putting a mild built 383 in front of it with a 8 3/4 3.23 suregrip out back. Should be fun to drive.

    Bought another project

Purchased a 1974 Dart Sport today. It has a 318 auto in it now. Not sure what direction I'm going to go with this build. Probably just get it on the road for now and see what happens. Going to need interior parts if anyone has extras they want to sell.

    Roller rocker hitting aluminum head???

Agreed. If this was a prostock motor I guess I would be a bit more picky. This is a street motor that won't see over 6,000rpm ever. I don't think the geometry is going to make or break this motor. I bet you would be hard pressed to find a factory Chrysler motor that had perfect valve train...

    Roller rocker hitting aluminum head???

I actually read his tech articles after I started this thread. I will call him Monday morning. Thanks.

    Roller rocker hitting aluminum head???

You're talking about putting shims under the rocker shafts right? I guess I didn't think of that.

    Roller rocker hitting aluminum head???

Anyone else ever have an issue with aluminum roller rockers rubbing on the pedestal on Edelbrock aluminum heads? The rockers are 440 source's roller rockers, heads are Edelbrock RPM. Still doing mock up so I only have one head on so far but the rocker for the exhaust on the #7 cylinder is...

    512 stroker for the street??

The motor was originally rebuilt in the mid 80's. The block was bored to .030, the cylinders have some taper so it will be honed to .040 to clean it up. The crank needs to be ground and polished and the rods need to be reconditioned so stroker seemed like the way to go. The iron heads need a...

    512 stroker for the street??

I figured I would go with a stoker because every time someone posts looking for help to build a 500hp big block the usual response is "no replacement for displacement" and everyone always says "go with a stroker", and then when someone looks for advise on a 500" stroker everyone says "go with...

    512 stroker for the street??

I have not read your book yet, I will have to check it out. I do own, and have read, Big-Block Mopar Performance by Chuck Senatore. I would love to go with efi and a roller setup but I'm trying to stay as budget friendly as possible because it isn't my checkbook, the motor is for a friend. Is a...

    512 stroker for the street??

I'm building my first stroker and want to hear your thoughts and need advice on the build. The car is a 68 GTX 4spd with 3.54 gears. I'm looking to build a street friendly pump gas motor for cruising the back roads and burning tires. The block is a 440 that will have to be .040 to clean up...

    Help identifying these pistons

I should have taken pictures of the rest of the pistons. They all have a small valve relief cut into the top but this one looks like the valve hit it, the rest of them are not mushroomed out. I don't think there is an F on the top, that is the decimal point. They were in a motor he used for...

    Help identifying these pistons

Can anyone tell me what these pistons are? I got them from a guy a few years ago. All I know is that they were out of a 383 and they are .030 obviously. I can't find any other markings on them. The numbers cast inside look like 295-99 but it is hard to tell.

    Which rear end will work???

Yes. It is a D200 which is 3/4 ton and it has a dana 60 in it now. I think I will convert it to 5 lug. That seems to be the best option.

    Which rear end will work???

Right now it has an open differential. I was planning on buying a True-trac or something similar to put in it.

    Which rear end will work???

Not an A-body but I need advice... I have a 1967 D200 truck that I want to turn into a street/strip truck. My dreams for the truck are to do a frame swap with a 1/2 ton 2wd frame so I will have independent front suspension, disc brakes, and power steering. I also plan on putting a BB stroker in...

New project, help decode fender tag

Picked up a new project today. Can someone decode the fender tag for me so I can see what is correct and what isn’t? Not an A body but it is still a pretty sweet ride.

    How do these plugs look???

So if I understand you correctly, everything is good except it is rich at wot? I don't need to change the heat range of the plugs? I just need to do a little carb tuning?

    How do these plugs look???

I think I will use a cutoff wheel. I don't like the file idea, I'm not that ambitious. I will cut one apart tomorrow morning and post pictures.

    How do these plugs look???

How should I go about cutting the shell off? Can I use a cutoff wheel or will that discolor it and make it difficult to read? I have never cut the shell off a spark plug before.
