speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

Could it be Summit was getting complaints on the valve body and returns, now they send it to Broader and that's when the s---t hit the fan. Now, Broader realizes what has happened and knowing he doesn't sell to Summit opened the can of worms . Summit may not have realized what Speedmaster was...

speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

I feel bad for the honest guy trying to make a living selling a great product that works and gets ripped off by a copy that doesn't work. Now his Co. gets the bad rap. Glad to see Summit do the right thing.

    Rock Auto discount code

I just ordered a belt for my PS and it is coming from Texas, so almost a week away. Ordered on 4/13 and due 4/18 or the 19th. Their not sure when it'll get here. I might not have ordered it if I knew it was a week away coming from TX. The other bad part was no local parts store had it.

They sent me the code and I didn't realize I've been a 15 year customer.

1974 Dart 318 crank, but no start (Solved)

Because he wired to the wiper resistor, turn on wipers when cranking and maybe it'll fire. There's so much to learn when dealing with cars, especially when torn apart and rewired, but you did the right thing by asking and showing us what you are doing.

    thermostat water neck question

As long as it isn't a thin cast housing and manifold is clean you'll be good to go. All those cheap chrome housings warped and were the problem of sealing and even the stock Mopar housings were warping.

    Alternator not charging

I had a 75 Plymouth with the 100 amp alternator and at 120,000 miles had to replace the brushes for $1.00 around 1985. They were rugged alternators.

    Plastic splash guards?

I put the rear wheel liners on my 05 Ram 1500 and they protect inner part of wheel housing and also covers the frame.

2017 ram 2500 broken manifold bolts

Chrysler had a problem with the 2.2 head gaskets when they first came out in the early 80's because they were using 10mm head bolts. They then switched to 11mm bolts to solve the problem. My 83 was warranted to 50,000 miles and gasket went out at 49,000 so fortunately covered under warranty. I...

2017 ram 2500 broken manifold bolts

Has anybody said why there is such a problem with the bolts failing. I have an 05 Ram with 5.7 and no manifold exhaust leak, also have 102,000 miles on it. With all the problems with these new trucks, only lease them, and since it's just a matter of time that they will breakdown, dump them back...

2017 ram 2500 broken manifold bolts

Have these people just started building cars? The recalls are ridiculous, my 05 Ram had a recall on the rear pinion nut because they didn't put locktite on the nut. Then they had timing chain issues, exhaust manifold bolts breaking and of course the Hemi's with the no lubrication to the roller...

    Looking for some guidance.

340's never had a front distributor, always in the rear. Using the oil pump tool to drive the pump engine has to rotate to open up the galleries on the camshaft bearings that distribute oil to rocker arms.

This is probably pretty minor, but have you ever seen one of these?

I ordered a 72 Gold Duster and never saw one in my car. Maybe Dealer kept them and sold them to make more money.
  14. T

    It’s about time.

They look better than the more common plate locking cable in. Where are they sold and do you really have to solder cable in, because with the taper on the male part it looks like it will hold the cable. Soldering the cable in would probably wind-up having solder on the threads of the male portion.

    Electrical Help Please

Do you have a voltmeter in the car? If not put a voltmeter on battery with car running to check output of alternator should be at least 13 volts or more when at fast idle, about 1000 RPM. If you don't have a voltmeter, get one to do any electrical troubleshooting. Harbor Freight has one for...

Finally got all the parts together- I think?

You won't know what you missed till you start putting it together. I put Gen2 Hemi in 71 Cuda, had K frame, motor mounts and everything else I thought I needed. I had a 440 in car so thought I was good to go. Starter cable didn't work, throttle bracket didn't work and a few other hemi oddities...

    MOPAR Dead?

    MOPAR Dead?

So the only thing to keep them alive will be Jeep and Ram. The 5.7 with the cam and lifter problems was a reason P.D.' s didn't like the Charger's, they couldn't idle due to lack of lubrication, and Police cars do a lot of idling. And it was bad enough with the timing chain problems, so the new...

How often do you drain your air compressor?

A friend was having problems with his compressor and I discovered that the tank was porous. I asked if he ever drained the tank and he replied he didn't know he had to do that. I guess not every body reads the instructions. I leave the drain cracked open a bit, but I really don't use it for...

The A body movie was Duel with Dennis Weaver and the 4 door Valiant and the trailer Truck. Back in the mid 70's I think.

Found an interesting find at O’Reilly auto

A word about Auto stores. I had to change my battery in my 2013 Honda Odyssey and it's in a tight spot. So I thought a battery strap would be the solution. None of the local stores had one, Auto Zone, Advance Auto, Napa or O'reilly's. Since these guys all sell batteries you would think they...

Where did this term "chunk" come from?

That's because we use fossil fuel to generate electricity and don't have rolling brown outs with solar and wind generated electric. Also not too many EV's yet.

Where did this term "chunk" come from?

A long time ago I was able to chuck that chunk in by myself on my back. But now I need my good friend Jack to help me get it back in. He helps me a lot now.

    Borgeson power steering kit

The 73 pitman arm is the bigger one. If you have original on a 71 Duster would be the smaller one. Your best bet is to measure to be sure before you order. When you know what size give Pete a call and he'll set you up. Real good guy to deal with and I have 2, 1 in a Duster and 1 in a Cuda.

I would also disconnect any electronics, Voltage regulator or ECU if you have EFI.

    Would you install this thermostat?

The place where you bought it may be more responsible than Robertshaw. Unless it was in a plastic package that wasn't previously opened, someone may have returned it after using it if it was in a box.

Question for those who have used Speedmaster assembled heads or valve springs

There is a you tube video that explains the CWC cams are made in Detroit, and really aren't the problem cams. They did a hardness test and they proved to be very good.

Dusters and Demons didn't come with a T/A package. Only Cuda's and Challengers came as T/A and I think only in 70.

Please help!! 1971 340 duster having major ignition wiring headaches.

Does the engine crank over fairly good? Battery voltage at 12 volts may seem a little low. If you have a charger put it on for a few hours and try it then. If it runs make sure charging volts is about 13.6volts or that ammeter shows it is charging. I had a 12 volt battery that would drop to 9.5...
