    peanut head plugs

I guess the same thing could be said for those that are both unwilling or unable to accept those with differing opinions from theirs. Remember: the seven words that guarantee a sure failure: "We've always done it that way before" Possibly applicable?? BOB RENTON

    peanut head plugs

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS....however, I stand by my origional premise....slant 6 plugs are EITHER tapered seat design or gasket seat design.....not peanut plugs or drule tubes......what do you call the round, black, air inflated devices under the car at 4 corners.....donuts? Whst do you call...

Wanting to purchase new front hub bearings

IMHO.....I agree with the proponents of TIMKEN, the first and best tapered roller bearings. They also market a synthetic hi temp wheel bearing lubricant that is modestly priced. Be advised that there are several eBay vendors marketing alternatives to Timken. SKF is another quality supplier...

    peanut head plugs

Zkx14, Thank you for your email and information. The slant 6 engjne used 2 types of plugs: gasket seat (early engines all displacements) and taper seat plugs (I believe mid 70 production). Spark plug brands and types are extremely subjective.....like which beer is best or shoes are more...

    peanut head plugs

Gentlemen, Why not use accurate descriptions in your inquiry , There are only two types of plugs used: taper seat plugs (1/2" reach) mid '70's head design or gasket seat plugs (3/4" reach) that use a aluminum spark plug tubes and an O ring seal to prevent oil leaks....similar to the 426 Hemi...

    Carb help

My opinion of the "cavitate feeling". I believe the engine is running lean, as Frnknsteen noted. Another possibility is too much timing, either attributable to the vacuum advance and mechanical advance. If the carb is just open slightly, it is possible that the carbs transition circuit is to...

    Ballast resistor

Protrac, It is my opinion that the distributor just furnishes the pulse to the control box, MSD in this case. The MSD unit switches the coil current on/off to generate the spark. The use of a ballast resistor will be determined by the control box (MSD) and the coil being used. The ballast...

    Spark plug dilemma (efi+N20)

Gentlemen, Re spark plugs. If the engine is of the LA family, it uses 3/4" reach spark plugs. Therefore, the AC R42 or R43 are incorrect as they are 3/8" reach plugs. For a LA engine a NON projected nose plug would be AC 43XL OR 42XL. For Champion N3 or N4 or something that has a slightly...
