Cleared my inbox just now.

Heck Man, I’m learning more than I ever cared to about internal door parts! 67 and 68 moved the door lock knob forward so the latch mech won’t work on 69-72 doors. I don’t think 69 is a one year only. I’m learning that 67 sure is!

The pictured one is my 67. I have replacement doors on my 67 now that need the 69-72 latch mechs…

Got my glass out of the 67 doors. Pics below of my vent window frame with the circled part (mounting point to top of door) the only difference I can see between rhe 67’s and 68-72’s. Other pic is a 68-72 pic from an old post.

Got ya. Check out the pic attached and let me know if you think the holding block and Allen screw on the right side of the pic might work on A-body holding brackets as well.

Mike, One of my questions is the difference in the vent window itself. Is the frame different at all after 67 or is it simply that bracket?

Found a post from 2008 from Member 72bluNblu that has pics of the inside of his 72 Dart door. It’s looks like an exact match to my replacement doors. Here are pics of his and mine. Let me know what you guys think.

Ok, looks like the new doors are 69-72 due to the lock placement and since 73-up had no vent windows. That sound right to everybody?

Mark, Pics attached, doors are def 69 up due to the lock knob placement. Side mirror holes are right about the back end of a vent window. I just need to figure out what internals from my 67 doors will bolt right over or if I can make any that won’t bolt over fit with a little effort. Does that...

Dana, can you tell what year the new ( red doors ) are by the bracket in the pic? The bracket is in the vent window area.

Hello All, My original 67’s doors were a little too far gone to restore so I replaced with what I thought were 68 shells, planning to re-use all my 67 door glass and hardware. I cut into my old door today, pics below. What I fear is that my newer shells aren’t 68’s at all but even later shells...

Plan is a 383 stroker, keep it an automatic, 8 3/4” sure grip. Gotta keep the bench seat too!!

I can MIG but I think metal that thick calls for TIG?

I saved the Newport housing, it’s just finding someone around here to cut and weld it back. No shops around here seem to want to do it. Brandywine

First order of business is to find a 8 3/4 axle housing in A-body length. The Newport also gave up its 8 3/4” differential to the project! It’s not a sure-grip though. :(

Plan is to use a 383 block from a 65 Newport and stroke it with a kit from 440 Source.
