I think the orange actually looks really pretty on Dusters. Mine is Hugger orange and it looks very nice. Just my 2 cents

    dip stick tube removal ?

I've ran into this issue several times in the past. I've tried a few different removal options, the only one I had very much success with was to carefully insert an EZ-Out aka screw extractor, lightly tap it with a hammer to get it seated and clamp a pair of vise grips on the hex end. spray the...

And thank you Abdywgn for giving me my 360 with the added bonus book too, some cool stuff in there. I appreciate your willingness to work around my hectic schedule and your politeness throughout the whole thing :-) Bolted my new 360 to the stand last night and am very much looking forward to...

    Captainkirk's Duster project

It really was that long ago, but it still seems vivid in my memories. I'm very glad that I was able to get to know my grandpa and am very blessed to have spent as much time with as I did. It still wasn't enough time, but I thank god for the time we had. Rest in peace grandpa Christoopher

    Ignition tumbler

You have to rotate the new lock cylinder in it's own housing while moving that actuator tang. That should free the tang up to slide the new assembly back in to the column. As for the wires, those are for the keys in the ignition buzzer.

Magnum head conversion on an LA engine

Hey guys, I've been searching on here but can't seem to find any info on converting my 74' 318 heads to Magnum heads. I do know the basics of the swap but wondered if any of you warriors have actually done it, or have any good detailed info regarding this swap. Any input would be so greatly...

    brake line opinion

To put my 2 cents in on your question, yes I sure would go ahead and replace them. They may look to be in decent shape from the outside, but how do they look inside? That's one of those questions that you never quite know. They very well may be ok inside but that rust, slime and scale you found...

[SOLD] Carter TQ thermoquad Carb Carburetor 9371 S

Hey is this carb still for sale? My Dad told me about it and I'm interested. Is it electric choke? I have been considering a TQ for my 318 Duster, and have heard great reviews on the TQ. I've never bought anything on here, how do the postal money orders work? Let me know if it's still for sale...

    Captainkirk's Duster project

Lol, yep we're related for sure. That's about the same route I would have ended up going, though I might have tried Magna Fluxing it first. I know the "Oh ****" feeling very well. Hope the rest come out the same.

    76 dart 318 header suggestions

Hey dude, just figured I'd chime in here. I've heard many positive and negatives on any header conversions/swaps. I have a 74' 318 Duster and have a set of Hooker competition headers on it. They fit extremely well, no interference, no denting tubes to clear stuff etc. If they might be in your...

Can I put her on her wheels?

Yeah the rockers are solid for sure. The floor is already mostly out already. I have all spot-welds cut out and main section of the floor removed. Like I mentioned, it's on stands at the structure points but was kinda' scared about letting her down without checking with some of you Mopar pros to...

Can I put her on her wheels?

Hey guys, I currently have my 74' Duster up on safety stands in my garage. I have them under the frame structure points. I have most of the floor removed in preparation for a complete floor pan replacement, but am not near done with it yet. I want to pull the engine out but only have about a...

    Captainkirk's Duster project

Well Cap'n I know part 2 all too well. I'm very pleased and proud of you for part 2!! I'm considering posting a poll about a nameless man who has way too many spare A-body parts laying around, and a son with an A-body that's desperately in need of these type of parts. Who by the way is willing...

74' Duster wheel bolt pattern question

I have a 74' Duster with stock disc fronts and drum rears. I'm looking at buying a set of rally wheels that are small bolt pattern. Is my car large or small bolt pattern? Were both options available in 74' or only one? Besides taking the wheel off and measuring, is there any other way to...

Duster 340 not a muscle car...

WoW that's pretty damn stupid to say!!! People seem to think a muscle car has to be a Chevy or Mustang. I grew up as a gear head and know damn well a Duster 340 is a true iconic muscle car hands down. My dad raised me working on engines, motorcycles and his iconic 72' Duster 340 4spd. If you...

    magnum engine intake

I've been researching intake possibilities for a conversion I'm thinking about too. I done some research and was told that it's possible to weld the holes in an LA style intake and re-drill them to match the Magnum head intake mounting holes. Again this is things I've read and talked to a few...

GAUGES...Under dash or on top of dash

I think they look great under the dash. I think they would have a good 70's kinda' look in that spot. Gauges can be seen in that spot, you just got to train your eyes to scan down that way and that's just my thoughts.

    Bent Pushrods ?!?!!?

I really have to agree with 72blunblu as I have had this happen to me too. If you can't find any further explanation, then it's a pretty smart guess. For what my 2 cents is worth anyways. Best of luck man.

3 speed manual problems. please help.

Get in there with a mirror and flashlight and check clutch-pack bolts, check other bolts, nuts, washers etc in the bellhousing area. Sounds like something in the bellhousing confines broke loose. You would be amazed at the damage a bolt or nut can do flying loose at those rpm's. May be worth...

    Replacement body panels "which ones"

Hey fellow A-Body lovers. I am going to be putting a new full floor pan and lower quarter patch panels on my 74' Duster. I found Classic Industries is cheaper in price than Year One. I recently found that Summit sells these too. The brand Classic sells is "Restorers Choice" The brand Summit...

    Magnum heads on a 74' 318 LA

Hey guys I've heard and read about putting the 302 series heads on a 318 and getting super performance when done right. I have also heard about putting Magnum heads on one and having better results with less machine work. Are any of you aware of this mod? If so, any suggestions or article or...

Floor pan and quarter patch help needed.

I plan on replacing the entire floor pan. It's not all destroyed by rust but I figure just do the full pan that way there's no worries about the areas that are slightly questionable. I have not removed it yet though as I wanted to order and have the new one in hand before going crazy. It looks...
