    Any electricians in the house?

Post #43, picture one, shows the boxes the solar goes through when it was installed. It shuts down solar in the event of a power outage. What I need, is a transfer switch between service, and the split between house and shop to introduce generator power to allow the solar to produce during a...

    Any electricians in the house?

Essentially, I have a 30A breaker on my panel that is from the solar panels. Is there a way for me to connect a generator, fire it up, and disconnect from service, and still be able to power my house? j

    Any electricians in the house?

Now, if I could find an electrician that would take on a project like this. I've also had problems with getting someone out to relocate the well pump to the new shop, so it isn't just electricians that are too busy for me... j

    Any electricians in the house?

What I may end up having to do is build a battery bank, charged by chargers, and go that route  j

    Any electricians in the house?

Each solar panel has it's own micro inverter. I'm too lazy to look up the panel specifications at this time, LOL! I don't need the full 400A in an emergency situation, and if we end up in a SHTF situation, I don't know I'd want to be around here anyway. I was just wondering if it would be...

    Any electricians in the house?

So far, none of them have showed up for a consultation. I got one estimate for two generator inlets and transfer switches for $1500, but no one wants to touch a backup battery array. j

    Any electricians in the house?

Here is what I have in mind. The generator feeds power so the solar produces during an outage. I'm thinking if I could get a transfer switch between the meter base and the panels, that could solve the generator problem. Where would I put the battery to feed both panels? Thanks for all the...

    Any electricians in the house?

I currently have two service panels fed by my meter base. One feeds the shop with a grid tied 18.6 KW Solar array, the other feeds the house. Both have a 200A Panel. First, I'd like to install a portable generator input plug that will be able to allow the solar array to continue to produce when...

    Building a 71 Swinger 340

I've always loved the 70/71 Swinger body, and specially love the 70 Swinger 340. I like the tail lamps on the 71 better tho. I've been on the lookout for a roller to build for the 340/727 that came out of the Duster I had. I finally found one, and the price was right ( Free ) . It's a 72 body...

    We signed the papers yesterday!

It took me a while to get the gumption to actually put it up there, LOL! Best part of it all? ...the TV was free, the receiver, Good Will, $35.00, and speakers going up were also free. The old Bostons were my front speakers in my home theater over 20 years ago. j

    We signed the papers yesterday!

It took a bit of work, and a lot of help from my step son, but I got the 80" Sharp mounted in the shop. I have a PC for streaming, an Onkyo TX -NR 626 for sound, and my old Boston Accoustics CR7's mounted till I can get an amp and structure built for the EAW speakers. Then the Boston will join...

    1971 EV2 Dodge Demon "Sizzler"

A few more of the 383. If I can get in there, the 8.75 is coming out for a 7.25 roller rear end while the 8.75 is rebuilt. If I can get that done this weekend, when I get back from Spokane on Tuesday, I'll haul the rear to the shop, and the motor to the machine shop.

    1971 EV2 Dodge Demon "Sizzler"

Correct. One bent push rod, and the lifter. I found one flat lobe on the cam ( A Crower ) and a couple other lobes that were going flat. I didn't know you had to air up camshafts...:wtf: Two cylinders are rusty, but I was able to clean them out enough to get the pistons out. The stroker kit...

New direction I picked up a core 383 a while back. I will pick up Edelbrock heads and a rocker arm set this weekend. So, stroker 383 it is. I have the schumacher kit already, and the oil pan I was planning on using for the 400 in my old Duster, so... WHY NOT?!? j

we are "net metered", at I think 94% of our usage. So, in theory, our power bill should drop like a rock in the summer, and possibly even in the winter. I'd also like to add a battery system eventually, to support us during a power outage
