Thinking about parting ways with my A body, give me opinions on what I should ask for it.

Bastrop county. I have receipts from 98 to today. Tons of pics somewhere also from the last time it was apart. I sold a 73 Dart years ago, needed floors, quarters, trunk pan, a sail panel. Seat was shot and it leaked. /6 auto, 8 3/4 with new tires and disk brakes were the only positives on the...

Asking, but Mopars have always been way overpriced in Texas. They just aren't as common as Fords and Chevys down here.

Thinking about parting ways with my A body, give me opinions on what I should ask for it.

Considering the prices people are asking down here for pretty some rough cars(slant 6 and 318 cars) it should be worth more then $5K.

I'd have to clean it up and get some detailed pics of it anyway to give you guys an accurate idea of it's shape.

Thinking about parting ways with my A body, give me opinions on what I should ask for it.

Hence the reason for the thread. I know my emotional attachment is worth exactly zero to a potential buyer. As much as I would love to have $20K for the car I know it isn't worth it. I was thinking it would be worth around $8K for everything, but I know literately nothing about the current...

    Fiberglass disappointment

Wow, that's a shame. Mine bolted up with no issues. Course I bought it in 2007.

Thinking about parting ways with my A body, give me opinions on what I should ask for it.

It's a 70 with a mild 360. 72 block, J heads, .030 over, about 9.5:1 compression, Edelbrock Airgap intake, Demon 625cfm carb, MP electronic distributor, and a Comp 268 cam (if I remember correctly, I'd have to dig up the cam card). 727 was rebuilt about 15 years ago (no leaks), good steels and...

    Dissapointing performance

You want to do burnouts? Do what I did, 3K stall converter, 4.10 gears, and I can do burnouts for days. This is with my 360 wheezing through small valve unported J heads with a 268XE cam.

Hmmm, what to do with my truck...

That's true. I wonder if it would be of any use though rodding a 318 in a 3600lbs truck. I really want to do the 383, it's just more money and work.

Hmmm, what to do with my truck...

Well down here in Texas junkyard 360's are hard to come by and insanely expensive when you do find them. I didn't want to bother with the cam because the engine has about 100K on it and I imagine the cam bearings will need to be replaced. I don't feel like dealing with that.

Hmmm, what to do with my truck...

So my 84 D150 has slowly degraded to the point of needing several major repairs. I am mulling around some ideas of what to do with it since I can't spend the money right now. It is a 318/727/9 1/4 with a suregrip and 3.23's. 318 is pretty much stock with the exception of an Edelbrock dual plane...

    Should be internal balance.

No spark on my 84 Ram.

Things that make you feel stupid. So as it turns out, despite getting spark at the plugs it apparently wasn't good enough. I couldn't remember how long it had been since I had done plugs/wires on the truck, since it now has a new distributor, cap, and rotor. I decided to put new copper plugs and...

No spark on my 84 Ram.

Carb is squirting fuel, has a little less then half a tank of fuel. Carb is less then a year old. Ran fine until this latest bout of no starts.

No spark on my 84 Ram.

My other thread disappeared, this issue cropped up again a few months ago. Still fighting it. I have the timing close, my timing light indicates that #1 is getting spark, new distributor, correct voltage at the coil during start/run sequence (at least the same as my Dart and it fires no...

    Short video of my car.

I used the mount that came with my Go Pro: http://gopro.com/camera-mounts/suction-cup-mount/ Just stuck it to the inside of the windshield. It's a pretty awesome little setup IMO.

    Diesel A body

Probably need some serious suspension and frame work as those diesels are not light at all.

    Free revs in drive??

Are you letting it idle in neutral for a few seconds before you go to "D"?

    Short video of my car.

It was due for it's state inspection, so I decided to put the Go Pro in it since I didn't have any video of it yet. Dart drive.m2ts - YouTube

    water outlet torque specs?

I never torqued mine down to any specific spec. If you are just using the o-ring alone I'm not surprised you have leaks cause that happened to me. I had to use a gasket coated in rtv to get the leaks to stop.

pros and cons of a flat tappet cam

The only real disadvantage to a roller cam is cost. Otherwise I'd choose a roller over a flat tappet every time.

Some of my pics from the Soco LSRU

There was a rod show in a local arena, as a byproduct lots of people bring their cars out and cruise one of the strips in downtown Austin. This was one of my favorites cause of the flatty and bass boat paint interior. These...

what a pain changing mag pickup

I usually yank the distributor to do this.

No spark on my 84 Ram.

I detected a bit of shaft play on the top bushing close to the rotor. It'll probably need to be rebuilt soon.

No spark on my 84 Ram.

It was the airgap in the distributor. Whoda thought. I pulled the distributor, someone on another board suggested I check it. Was at .030 when it should be at .006. I wonder how it got out of spec. Stabbed the dizzy back in and it fired right up. Go figure. Thanks for all the ideas guys!

No spark on my 84 Ram.

Right before I left for work I remembered I have a spare ignition switch, so I swapped it out, but it still wouldn't fire. Although I might had cooked the ecm when I jumpered the coil to the battery, so I'll need to test it before I push any further.
