IIRC, the stud clip goes on the rear....where you can get a socket on it. No access in the front without pulling the interior panel.

They're different.

All the mounting brackets are the same '64-6 273 (and even poly 318's) A/C and non-A/C. The adjustment strap is different between manual trans and automatic for some reason. Not sure what the difference is or why there should be one, but, they have different part numbers in the factory manual.

Sell off the extra stuff to help fund your build.

Who cares if it has all your conversion parts. You don't need the body, just the drivetrain and misc other stuff.

Looks like it's actually a '64, but, same V8 changeover parts will work. I can't seem to link it for some reason. Just look up Los Angeles Craig's list and enter '64 Valiant in the search box.

There's a '65 A-body V8 car for sale in Los Angeles area (Canoga Park) for only $2k. Do yourself a favor and get that for a conversion donor rather than the '77 Charger, unless you really want the later 360 drivetrain. A '65 273 car will have all the parts you need to do a much less painful...

Yes, the knob and shaft are one piece with the headlight switch. The wiper knob comes off it's shaft by loosening an allen head set screw.

You might want to use some anti-seize compound on the pickup tube threads, but, it isn't required. It's pipe thread, so, self sealing.

Power steering with chassis headers.....that has to be a tight fit! I'd get rid of that plastic fire-waiting-to-happen fuel filter too while you're revamping that fuel delivery system.

The type of nut should be the same style as the one on the wiper switch.

GM had ones like that, but, I don't remember seeing any for Mopars. Easy way to find out....try to install it and see if it can be adjusted correctly.

In '66, the package codes were under the E and F. The E packages I'm most familiar with are the emission packages (such as the C.A.P.) I suspect that the suspension package would be an 8 under the F letter. 7 under the F is the Formula S package.

In '66, you could get a suspension package, but, I don't think there was a performance package as such, other than the Formula S package.

Nice looking rust-free car. A few things mentioned that are not correct. It does not have factory disc brakes. They're the later single piston type like what comes on a '73-up A-body or similar. The factory discs for '66-72 use the 4 piston Kelsey Hayes system. As I mentioned in another post...

To me, the availability of an 8 3/4 only confirms when they started making them and could be dealer installed, not when they were a factory option. I'd like to see some official paperwork (like and order sheet) where that option was actually included in a factory build.
