    Magnum Harmonic Balancers

Just for clarification for anyone reading, 360/5.9 magnum balancers are not interchangeable with 360 LA balancers. They physically fit but the position and size of the counterweight differs. A 5.9 magnum needs a 5.9 magnum balancer. A 360 LA needs a 360 LA balancer. Both are externally...

Mopar M1 Manifold Injector Bosses, Not Drilled Out

If your manifold doesn't have bosses cast-in, you could use a similar jig for alignment to drill the holes in your manifold's runner, making it ready to weld in a pre-made bung like this one. Injector Boss - Weld In - Aluminium - Large You would need to use a large end-mill instead of a drill...

Mopar M1 Manifold Injector Bosses, Not Drilled Out

Unfortunately, there were some setbacks and it's not completed yet. There was a fire in the workshop and it's been under construction for about 12 months. Re: the bungs, the hard part is done. I have only just recently picked up where i left off. The injector bungs in the magnum manifold have...

What cam do you have in your magnum?

Are you certain those cam specs are correct? I've never heard of a regrind with that much duration before and can't imagine how it would be possible. usually regrinds tend to be in the 210-220 region from what I've seen.

    Kegger carb adaptor

just because something's not available to purchase ready-made doesn't mean it won't or can't work. If you think about how much it might cost to tool up a factory to do a production run and produce a few thousand of this kind of adapter and then consider how few people would actually want to buy...

    Kegger carb adaptor

I can't think of any good reason why it wouldn't work, I've seen some truly horrid intake designs over the years and the kegger isn't one of them. the only reason some give it a bad rap is due to it being designed for towing and torque. the later kegger manifolds have a cast-in divider in the...

Mopar M1 Manifold Injector Bosses, Not Drilled Out

ross machine racing makes a drill bit specifically for doing EFI fuel injection bungs. I am going to be doing the same thing with my magnum M1 single plane. will be making a jig to replicate the spray angles and injector spacings from the factory kegger style manifold over to the M1 casting and...

Buying a Magnum Core- Max Mileage?

Due to the ridiculous price people are paying for LA360 cores in Australia ($2000 AUD for something that "runs" :angry7:). I recently decided to import a low mileage 5.9 for my next project. In the end I settled on one with 109k miles on the clock. I kinda just accepted that that this is...

Durango 5.9 Magnum R/T any advantage over any other 5.9 Magnum

If you can't figure out that saying "Your Dakota must've been gay and infested with AIDS." is rude then i'm sorry but you're simply a fuckwit.

I wish australia had american junkyards.

What? 'Nother 360 magnum on the dyno?

I personally don't think that a loud exhaust is much of a substitute for a big cam if a mean idle is part of the sound you're looking for.

What? 'Nother 360 magnum on the dyno?

That's fine, I'm not out to create conflict with anyone. I just happen to think that the thumpr cams are well designed and my dyno horsepower and torque curves support this idea, The chrysler version of the thumpr intake lobes are listed in the master catalog as being a little more...

    J (915) vs. Magnum heads

True, in regards to compression ratio the math isn't all in the chamber volume...but if you're considering swapping one head to another on an existing short motor. the chamber volume is the only thing that changes (assuming the same head gasket is used) All I'm saying is that once fitted with...

What? 'Nother 360 magnum on the dyno?

Nothing to be ashamed of, I run the smallest thumpr in my 318 and really enjoy it. In fact it made almost identical horsepower per cubic inch to this motor, not nearly as impressive torque numbers though. In it's defense it was only running unported 2.02 J heads and a flat tappet cam.

What? 'Nother 360 magnum on the dyno?

Interesting question, maybe we should also ask what is it with building a nice sounding exhaust? What is it with having nice paint and bright chrome work? What is it with driving old cars when new cars have so many advantages? what is it with wanting to change cars from their factory...

    J (915) vs. Magnum heads

8.5 sounds about right to me for 1.88"/1.6" valve J heads without metal shim gaskets if the motor was about 9.25:1 with magnum heads. Most people fit the J heads with bigger 2.02 valves which makes the difference much less. In the above example it would be about 9:1 with standard gaskets and...

    J (915) vs. Magnum heads

Depending on your eventual goals, RHS and edelbrock heads are available in magnum configuration. There's also EQ heads which are a very impressive unit. fwiw, I run J heads on my engine and I truly love them. BUT I bought them when I was 18 for $500 AUD and got new guides fitted and a...

    J (915) vs. Magnum heads

I think both heads are good if you already have them. as mentioned above there's a lot of things need changing when swapping from magnum to LA or vice versa. Different intake manifold. Different valves, retainers and keepers. Different rocker covers. Different rocker design. I think maybe the...

flowed my magnum heads for my 360 build.

350HP should be cake with those heads. As long as your compression really is 9:1 and not just "parts book says 9:1" you should top 350 pretty easily.
