Clutch linkage broke on the wagon

So I drove down to Classic Industries new showroom in Huntington last Saterday and picked up the parts. I was putting them on on Labor day when the Z Bar broke. Now I need to get that fixed. The Classic Industries guys were very cool though and the place is nice.

Clutch linkage broke on the wagon

All the parts I find are for the BB and small block, will either of these work on my slant? The shop manual does not differentiate, so I think this should all be the same. Thanks Tim

Clutch linkage broke on the wagon

So the thing like this has nothing on the end of it. Should it? and if so where do I get one? Actually there is a nut on there towards the middle of the shaft, but that is it.

Clutch linkage broke on the wagon

I did get it to start in first gear yesterday, but the hood was up, otherwise I would have driven it the 15 miles home in first gear through downtown LA traffic... maybe. But I did not get it to start again in gear and it still sort of scared me. Any guesses what broke? And how do I fix it?

Clutch linkage broke on the wagon

The wife's minivan is in the shop so I dropped her and the kids at Union Station in downtown LA and I start the car to go back to work and the pedal pops down to the floor. I pull it up and it will pop to the up position, but nothing in between. I looked under the hood and the pin thing (I don't...

Brother has offered to help put clutch in the wagon

Hi All, So my brother is coming down from San Francisco next weekend, the 11th. He asked if I wanted to do the clutch while he was here. It sounds like I should take him up on it, but I have none of the parts yet. What should I get? and does this sound like something we could do in the 2 days...

Yeah, I lubed my cable and it is still doing this. I will try the speedo head too.

    Speedometer jumping, and inaccurate

I still need to look at this, but that is a possibility. I think it is the cable though since I still get some noise with the speedo detached.

Thanks Redfish. That sounds like a good idea. What is the best way to clean it out?

That sounds like the way I should go on this. I wish I was closer, I would come pick that up. I guess I will look for one nearby.

    DIY Wheel bearing?

Hi, I bought bearings for the wagon, but they did not come with seals. And no one seems to have them. What should I take pictures of to figure out if I have a year correct rear end on this car? Do I need to take the gear cover off? If I do will oil pour out of there?

    rearend noise

My slant 7 1/4 is making noise, but I am pretty sure it is the driver side wheel bearing. The front passenger side is making a brake grinding noise, last night as I backed out of my spot at work I heard a loud Bang/Pop and then there was a grinding noise. It is on and off now and the car is...

    DIY Wheel bearing?

Yeah, I did not get to this this weekend, waiting on a check in the mail. I will try get some pics though. The wheels are still small bolt pattern if that helps. It does look like some work has been done down there though, the axle housings or whatever they are called have been painted red for...

    DIY Wheel bearing?

Thanks Kit. This sounds like what I was seeing in the shop manual. The whole, cut off with chisel and hot oil thing, makes me think this is not a renters driveway job. Redfish, it is a 7 1/4. are there different ones of those? Do I need to take it apart to tell what part I need?

Can anyone tell me the part number for the bearing I need?

    DIY Wheel bearing?

"Be sure to pre grease pack any axle bearing that gets differential oil lubrication. " I have no idea what that means. Maybe I should do like you did and take the axle to a shop and have them press in the bearings?

    DIY Wheel bearing?

This doesn't sound too hard. I think I better give it a shot this weekend. Is there any reason I have to do both if I do one? Also I do not need any special tool to seat the bearings? What about a grease gun?

    DIY Wheel bearing?

So the rear wheel bearing on the driver side is making a lot of noise, when I got the 1965 Dart Wagon 4 months ago it was making a low growl type noise. Now it is louder and more clunk/crunch sound. How hard is it to do this myself? I do not have a floor jack or a garage, just hand tools...

    Speedometer jumping, and inaccurate

I disconnected the speedo yesterday when I replaced a bad headlight switch. I will get some graphite and check the speedo head next weekend (back to work) I did notice on the drive in today that the noise was still coming from under the dash, so that makes me think it is the cable.

    Speedometer jumping, and inaccurate

Thanks for starting this thread for me and my Wagon! So there will be trany fluid where the cable attaches on a 4 speed? And this twitchiness can hurt the speedo head? Would I be better off detaching it til I have time to sort this out? I am hoping to spend as much of the holiday break as I...
