    904 rebuild

One of the mods recomended is to relocate the breather to the rear of the trans. Anybody done this? Did you use a rear end type breather or tap for a fitting and run steel tubing or hose to a catch can up front?

Mancini Racing still selling Yukon axles that are 3/8"-1/2" too long

Did you remove the thrust block from the center section? It is necessary to do so when changing to the "green" bearing setup.

    904 rebuild

I'm running an 8 3/4 with 4.56 and a spool. I know that everything being equal, the 904 is supposed to be quicker because it is lighter and requires about 20 HP less to turn. 904 rebuilds are new to me, which prompted the original question. I know that a lot of the Hemi racers use 904 internals...

    904 rebuild

I just ordered a master deluxe rebuild kit which has red eagle clutches, kolene steels, a solid eagle band. I also ordered a 4.2 lever and a cheetah reverse manual valve body. Are there any inherently weak points that I should take care of while the trans is down. It is in a drag only car, 2900#...

    Transmission Id Help!

When I converted from a 225 and 3 speed, I put a '65 Coronet 273 and trans (904) in my '65 Dart. The tailshaft is longer on the "B" body 904. You will have to fab a rear motor (trans) mount. Your speedo cable won't fit because of crossmember interference. The shifter and park cables fit and work...

Help! 65 Valiant, may have screwed up my shift cables bad

If you are having that much trouble, take off the pan. It will be very obvious on how to remove the shift cable. It will also be very easy to adjust it when the pan is off. If you rounded out the park cable access plug, about all you can do is use an easy out.

I'M an idiot in need of help....727

If you have the original convertor, you'll also notice that the snout doesn't fit the crank register properly. The '62 "B" body trans is also a lot longer than the "A" body trans. You won't be able to install the speedo cable after modifying the crossmember either. How do I know this stuff...

    727 trans rebuild

Isn't there a video on rebuilding 727's available? That sure would be a great way for a novice like me to gain some understanding.
