    Decoding a 340 help please

krazykuda, thanks for link - pretty much everything I was looking for. pink340swinger, I had a '71 that was visually identical to the car in your avatar. Sweet ride. A56, it will be a day or two before I can get back over to where this is at but will post the info when I do.

    Decoding a 340 help please

I have the opportunity to obtain a 340 block. Cast Number: 2780930-340-5 Cast date: 7/10/69 ID Number: R135495. Am I right in saying this is a 1970 340 built in the Ontario CN plant? If so, I know Darts & Dusters were built there. Is there any way to tease out any other info on this block...

Got told about these two A-bodies that are being sold Not Mine

@Drache, Thanks for doing the leg work on these two. If I were in the market for an A-body, I'd certainly consider them; however, we'd have a Lorena Bobbitt situation if I brought home another car right now.

Help me come up with a name for my new 69 Barracuda Drag Car

With the red theme: BloodLust or Satan's Child. For the poker theme: All In, or Aces High, or "The Nuts" (if you play Hold'em, you know). I'd use hand turned gold leaf letters with a black pinstripe outline or something similar (think John Big Mazmanian). Sweet ride regardless what you name it!

With or with out a hood scoop?

Your car looks perfect as is but since you asked, my opinion would be to NOT CUT that steel hood. Buy an aftermarket fiberglass hood for weight savings & mount whichever studded scoop makes you giddy. Paint the new hood/scoop to match the car or black it out. It really comes down to your...
