    arp main studs

I searched around and could not find the mentioned thread or my old thread on ARP studs because I'm certain I had one. I remember going around and round with ARP because they had their kits all wrong. It took them several emails to get it straighten out and I don't know if they ever did fix it...

    arp main studs

There is a thread here that resolves the issue. I came across it a while ago when I had the same question on my studs. I choose not to use a windage tray on my 408. I went with ARP 6 point studs. If I remember right I used a 12 point under the oil pump. On the stud under the oil pump it required...

    410 stoker

That is a bad graph to read, the way its scaled makes it harder. Are you intersecting points at 5250 rpms were hp should meet TQ? I'm sure the toque number is accurate and the HP is just throwing off the dyno because of the converter.

    Valve Cover Oil Leaks

I personally use the rubber Felpro gaskets with the metal inserts ans crush sleeves. I don't use any thing else to help seal but I did switch to studs for fasteners rather than bolts. Much better setup and easier on the aluminum threads.

    Fuel Injection add on??

Good luck on the MSD. I went with FAST Ez efi a few years ago over the MSD when it first came out because MSD was a returnless fuel system which I didnt care for. Overall Im happy with the FAST system. Hasn't caused me any issues, just need to follow the instuction to a tee. No short cuts...

    Temp probe RPM Air Gap

^^ yeppers I run my fan relay sensor in the top hole of your picture. I have a Derale sensor, their sensor is a real small thread like 1/4" then come with different fittings to adapt to fit different applications. Now my fan is just wired to its own relay and the Derale probe has a 12V...

performer rpm heads with ARP studs. conflicting torque values.

Me personally 90 on the bottom and 100 on the top bolts (with oil). I also let the gasket compress overnight then come back the next morning loosen it all up and do it again one more time.

    408 xe274

here is my car at idle with the 285. idling at 900rpms because I had to reset my tune. Once the tune settled out I moved it to 750-800rpms. 71dart dwinger 408 stroker FAST ez efi: http://youtu.be/k5w13vVNnmE

    Need help building 416 Stroker!

Scat stroker kits dont require any clearing of the block. My setup is a 408 because my 340 block did not pass sonic testing so I found a 360 block to stroke to 408. I have Scat kit, -22 cc dome pistons, eddy heads gets me 10:1. I run 93 octane. I run a comp cams cam with .580 lift and...

    408 xe274

Im sure it does help, mine doesn't seem too choppy. It idles somewhere around 800rpms. Im still getting things back together from unrelated upgrades. I hope to fire it up Monday. I will try and get a video to post.

    408 xe274

Thats going to seem mild in a 408. I run a XE285HL 20-228-4 cam. It idles smooth and comes off mild to me in my 408. 3800 stall.

    408 questions

I used Scat for my 408. I went back and forth over it, and ended up using their Cast 9000 crank. Rated for 650hp. Which I don't plan ever coming close too. The forged was about $500 more but I just didnt think I would need it. My machinist had nothing but good to say about it. Only been finished...

Anyone gone efi yet? What did you choose

I have FAST ez efi. Ran great out of the box. You just need to follow the direction and not short cut it. Like 1967 cuda had problems with (I am not doubting your install). They really stress on the power supply and voltage interference. I made sure to do a quality proper install it fired...

    Good engine swap options

have you ever considered a salvaged hemi swap? I debated it over my current 408 build. Went with the 408 because I thought it would be cheaper. In the end it really wasn't. I have dump a lot more money into my 408 than I intended to from the start. Sometimes like today when the car is still not...

    Fast Ez-Efi??

Turn key I spent $2100 on my mater kit which includes everything. Fuel upgrades and all. I would also recommend you have or get a aftermarket ignition box as well. Good Tach signal is very important. I had one in my garage already ( Crane hi6 box ) I purchased a sending unit with a 3/8 feed line...

    Predict my E.T ....

To me this is the most honest answer I've seen. I'll stick with this. My 340 on N2O best was a 7.9ET in the 1/8. It still had a little room for improvement but even if I dropped 2/10 to a 7.7et it would still only come out to a 12 sec 1/4. I had a lot more converter with my 3800 Dynamic

    416 Dyno Results

Well this doesn't give me much hope for my 408. breaking 400hp to the rear was my goals. We have very similar setups, besides the compression that Im slightly lower on. Im going to be sad!

    408 Build Thread

Same one I have on my 408. They fit great, and I would have to say to date they are the easiest header Ive put on a car before. But I had the motor out and drop it in around the headers tied to the inner fenders. Over the years they do show sign of age with slight rust in some spots. I like my...

Anyone using an Innovate LM-2 A/F ratio datalogger

I had one a few years ago. I only used it a few times to make sure My AFR was good while on N2O. Never used it again so I sold it on Craigslists.

    camshaft break-in

I asked a lot of the same question you did. And over and over people and Comp cam told me to take the springs out. So I did. Made sure everything was straight before start up because you don't want to have to shut it down half way though. I used a high zink oil plus comp cams break in additive...

Cant make this valve train noise go away!

I read that thread a while back. I believe it was the pushrods tapping on the pushrod holes. The eddys don't have very big holes to begin with and if you change anything to effect the pushrod angle it makes it worse. I was sure to check my twice during assembly because of that thread. Now my...

1st picture is my 408. still working on getting her finished up. Little farther than the picture shows. This weekend I got her started and broke in the new cam. Swapped out the valve springs last night and changed the oil. hope to be hitting the road in the next few days. 2nd picture is the 340...

Pushrods & preload - school me

2 threads showing here at zero lash then with another 1/2 a turn and tighten down. I have used thread locker on the jam nuts before and would NOT recommend it. It caused major problems loosening them back up. Loosening the jam nut is not the problem its breaking the allen wrench adjuster from...
