273 rockers on 340 with hydraulic cam

Just a general word of caution-don't assume. Check everything out. The 273 arm assemblies I bought were oddball (maybe very early production?) that had the shaft oiling holes clocked way different than anything I had ever seen. Somewhere around the 4:00 position instead of at the bottom. I...

    TTI HEADERS HITTING

Shumacher Engine Swaps Schumacher Creative Services has shims they sell in a kit. There are different thicknesses in the kit. I had the same problem with my TTI's and conversion motor mounts. There's eight shims in the kit for $26. ...or you can make your own if you have the steel/aluminum...

Tired of looking at cam specs.......

That cam works fine in my 340. I also have a 11" converter in mine with a Performer Air Gap intake and 650 DP Holley. It idles at 900 RPM and idles fine in gear. I don't think the cam is the problem either. As for the intake- you might want to try a drop base for the air cleaner before you...

Thinking of changing direction with my engine. Opinions needed

I don't know your engine specs so I can only offer a generic opinion. If it were my engine I wouldn't put aftermarket heads on it. My cam is a fairly mild .480+ lift cam with 10:1 compression. Aftermarket heads wouldn't be enough of an advantage to be worth it. If you have the engine built up...

    Ugh, another broken mount. Poly-Locs?

Copied from another site. I hear many have done the mod with great success. Tired of busted engine mounts....well there's an easy fix. I've been doing them this way for several years and never had a falure. The driverside mount is the one that will seperate as the engine torques over and if...

    Dual quad manifold

I have the Offy intake on the '74 Cuda with a mildly built 360. It has 2 650 Edelbrocks on it. It works great but you need to do some homework to get the linkage and tuning right. You can use any carter based carbs as small of CFM as you can get. Holleys won't fit.

    Motor mount differences?

I recently bought a '69 Dart that had the engine replaced before I bought it. It was a 273 and is now a 340. I noticed the TTI headers rattle off the torsion bar on the pass side and the steering box on the driver's side. The headers haven't been beat to death for clearance. I also see a few...
