My little 318 put down 235hp to the tires with 20 degrees timing and 2 blown head gaskets. I think the 318 is very capable in an a body platform.

I used to run cheap long tubes. I cut them off with a recip saw and theew them in the junk pile.

Stick with steelies and go with Hughes or Indy.

Magnum engines are fairly cheap in the junkyards. If you go for a 318, you can get an even better deal as they are often overlooked.

I'm running Harland Sharp myself. I like the hughes design but it is similar with Harland Sharp for less $$.

I am running block hugger shorties which CAN be installed fairly easily and leave lots of room. You do loose flow with this option compared to long tubes though.

I'm running a comp cam in my mag 318. It is fine but a little mild with a 114 lsa. Your selection really depends on what your planning to do with the car.

You will need to go to an aftermarket piston to get decent compression. Have you looked into a magnum head conversion?
