    ***Header ID???***

Looks a lot like those chinese headers that are a direct replacement for full size dodge truck magnum engine. I have installed similar ones for a few customers and almost everyone has had issuse with the pipes cracking after a few thousand miles.

    Oil Pressure

Pull the wire off your sender, turn the iginition key on, see where your guage is at,it should be at zero, then ground the wire and see where your guage goes. When your wire is grounded the guage should go to max pressure. If it functions correctly checking it that way your sending unit is the...

    valve cover bolts to short

Just keep in mind that a bolt strecher will only strech a bolt to 7/9ths past its original length... too many people try to strech them to 11/15ths beyond the original length and this usually causes the bolt to snap and they get mad and throw out a perfectly good bolt streching tool thinking it...

    360 balance ?s

Good to hear, I should not have assumed you already pulled the belt and started it to eliminate pulleys, fan and such. That is one sharp looking van, reminds me of high school when a good friend of mine had one,his was a 79, had a 360 4bbl with headers in it, sum bich would haul ***. Was a lot...

    360 balance ?s

A couple things you can try but I would bet it has to come out and apart to be corrected. First try a different dampner and see if it cures it, if not you can try adding some weight to the convertor at the spot where the weight is now and see if it gets better, or you can even knock the weight...

    has anybody

Sorry guys but I'm calling BS, its an old wives tale. If this were the case then I better go throw out about 2 dozen cranks that are on the shelf on their sides in boxes cause they all must be no good by now. Were talking about a piece of machined steel here... not some flimsy plastic part or...

Dumb question (about intake manifold gasket) for the day

Lay them on and mark where the intake runner hits and grind that area flat to the gasket surface. I use a bench grinder to do it. Be glad you did not snap the ear off before you noticed they interfere. I have had to weld a few.

    Top end noise

No, 2000 RPM MAX. never lower then 1500 for the duration of break-in. Use any oil you want with the correct viscosity for your engine and add Cam Shield. Make sure you coat the bottom of the lifters and the cam generously with the lube provided by the cam manufacturer. If everything looks...

The priming debate... for me personally my answer is no it was not the factor, but... you need to fill the oil filter before installing it and you need to prime the pump too before installing it as well. I personally do not put the dist. drive gear in untill I am ready to start so if the engine...

    Top end noise

-low RPMs do not kill cams, set your idle where it belongs, improper break-in kills cams.

    Top end noise

The reason was primarily from improper break-in, 3000 RPM is too high to break the cam in at. I cant stress enough at the 2000 RPM limit, I have ran the break-in on more engines then I can count and we do many performance builds each year, and I personally have never lost one cam. Yes zinc is...

    Top end noise

Agreed the correct way from here is to take it all apart and clean everything again and start over, now with that being said I will also say that I have done cam swaps with no issues without a total tear down after a lobe has gone away so it is your call from here. My advice on break-in, upon...

Dumb question (about intake manifold gasket) for the day

Question 1, no. A vac leak will not cause a no heat condition. Question 2, I use the titanium coated drill bits all the time and have no issue with snapping, they should work for what you are doing just fine. As far as that distributor assy., it sounds like a cheep quick alternative to...
