anyone balanced a stock 360 crank?

External balance is just fine, I've put more than 2000 1/4 mile passes on mine since it was built in 1993.

    My 360 rebuild adventure.

The 2.02 valves won't need anything special to work and it will only cost a couple dollars more to have the installed, Now is the time to do it. That cam is kind of small for a 360, The 280 would be a better choice. Remember that you will need a converter that does not have the balance weights...

    Mahle pistons VS scat rods?

It's official, Mahle and Scat both agree there parts are not compatible. Neither of them want to make a design change to fix the issue though. Thanks.

    360 mounts

I've used the 318 mounts in the past, There is one boss that doesn't line up so I drill a piece of 1x1/8th scrap steel to connect them.

    Eddy Heads: Like or Dislike?

I've had 2 sets. I was one of the first to get the first batch of them, Waited over a year for them, lol. Both sets went on mild 360s and ran mid 11's. I'm thinking I'll try the RHS heads next though. You'll want to have a decent machine shop check them out before you bolt them on.

    First Mopar Build 360/422 CID

If it runs anything like my 4speed 440 six pack road runner your going to fall in love with it. Sweet looking engine by the way.

    Mahle pistons VS scat rods?

So I'm finally starting to assemble the new 414 for the green machine after the rods left the block last year and go to install the scat H beams on the Mahle pistons, No go. WTF? Either the rods are to wide on the small end or the pistons are to narrow in the center or as my caliper says a...

    low hp and torque

Sounds about right for chassis dyno. Did they work on the tune up while you had it on there or did you just make a pull and leave? It's not uncommon to find 30-40 hp with a good tune. My 360 put down 320 and it runs 11.60s, How fast do you want to go? If you have the chassis working right that...

    I jumped the gun!

For a street car that cam will be fine, I have about the same in my 414 and it runs mid 11's and idles like a stock 340. It will want a big carb 800-850 cfm.

    360 block vs 5.9 block

I also forgot about oiling the rockers, I'm using a set of J heads and a solid roller cam so the 5.9 might not work anyway.

    360 block vs 5.9 block

I'm putting together another 414 (4.060 bore x 4.00 stroke) after losing a couple of rods last weekend and have 2 choices for the new build. I have a 1978 360 block and I have a late 90's 5.9 block, Which is a better choice? Or does it matter? Also the 5.9 has the early style motor mount ears...
