    Aluminum heads

I like this idea, I wasn’t sure if this was something I could do but I did think about it. Thanks, I’ve been thinking about going aluminum for along time. But now that I have to remove the heads anyway I was going to do it, I just wasn’t sure which head to go with. Especially with the lack of...

    Aluminum heads

Yes sir you are correct it is .040. I had read a thicker head gasket didn’t lower compression as much as I would think. I’m not 100 percent as I only read it. And I thought a head gasket being thicker may make it easier to push out? Like I said I’m not a engine builder, I did build mine but may...

    Aluminum heads

Thanks! I did have it tuned and dyno’d a summer or two ago I’m not even sure how long it’s been time flys. I have a coworker who runs a blower car offer to lock out my timing but I’ve heard good and bad so I just left it. I was just thinking while I had the heads off anyway it would be a good...

    Aluminum heads

So I pushed out a head gasket and am looking into some aluminum heads to replace the Rhys/Indy lax heads I have on it now. I’m going to put cometic mls head gaskets back on and am looking at the speed masters on jegs sight that say in stock. I’m looking at these ones PCE281.2148 because it says...

    Worth the switch?

So I just came across a old video where they put some trickflow 190 heads on a small block 410 stroker. I looked around on the web and it seems these heads are sold out everywhere I looked. So here’s the question and I know it goes along with how fast u wanna go,do u race and all that. But I...

318/410 What do you think (posting for a friend not my engine)

Before I did a stroker 318 I read a article in mopar magazine that did a 402 stroker I think it was called iron lung sucker punch. Good read, mines a 392 40 over super fun. U might take a look. I believe there pros and do the testing before making a 402 cu. stroker. I’m sure there’s a reason...

Why are there so few blown small blocks?

I did buy the kit. Everything fit up great no problems at all. It’s a mp electronic dist no clearance issues. I don’t have pics of the manifold sorry. As far as the Manifold, I hate to critique anyone’s welds as I’ve been under a hood my whole life. But u can’t see the manifold under the blower...

Why are there so few blown small blocks?

I put one on my small block dart. I’m doing some work to it at the moment, before I pull it out of the garage. But your right, u don’t see many small blocks with blowers on them.

    Screeching

Had same sound under my dart turned out to be a spring from the clutch popped out and was rubbing on metal. I changed out the clutch and springs fell out. New clutch no more noise and didn't seem to hurt anything. But what a pain.

Power limits for LA small blocks?

I have a teen stroker, I don't have any idea the hp. But I've been curious to your question as well. I've always wondered why import 4cyl have no problem making huge power with turbos. But small block mopars have some power level were they aren't durable enough to handle? Fella I work with just...

RHS LAX head, valve train question

I believe the 8 mm and 1.92 intake and ex valve is correct for lax heads out of the box. I had my intake cut to 2.02 intake by Indy and I mildly cleaned them up an installed Hughes roller rockers shaft mount. Hope this helps.

best way of setting roller lifters ??

I have Hughes roller lifters, I followed what they said on the directions they came with for a hydraulic cam an all turned out well. I don't even hear them. I have a xe284 comp. it.s been in there a little over a year I think, maybe more. I check them every other oil change just to see if things...

    318 Stroker

I've done the 4" stroke on my 318 with an over bore of fourth thousands I think it works out to a 392. I put rhs heads on it 4 speed an 410 gears with a small supercharger an decent sized cam an when I wear this one out I'll do another.

    stroker build questions

I've wondered about this since I started looking at this site. Why is it a guy can build a motor an ask hp numbers an get really low estimate from some people with a lot of knowledge. But when some guy who builds engines does one with a lot of the same parts but states some huge hp an torque no...

    408 stroker info

    I will chime in for u. I am sorry it's not a 408 but mines pretty close its a 392 stroker an I don't get very good gas mileage. I think I get something like 8 miles to a gallon. An that's before I added forced air. It's got 3:55 gears an a 4 sped 750 dp an it's in a 68 dart. I knew I wouldn't...

ebay fabricated aluminum valve covers ?

I have them on mine. Had no problems with the first Eddie performer. I had a Eddie air gap on for a short amount of time but when first installed I had to clear a little bit with a grinder, because they rode on the intake a little an caused leak. It was a easy fix. They are still on my car with...

    hydraulic flat tappet lifters question

I think you are ok. The hole is for a oil through pushrods but I've read manufactures standardized as the hole wouldn't hurt solid push rod use. I think I asked this same question on my first cam swap. Hope this helps.

Duration 284/296, Lift .507/.510 comp cam?

Xe 284 comp cam. I have it in my dart an like it. Choppy idle pulls hard. I have it in a little teen stroker rhs heads an a small supercharger lots of fun. I will try an pull it out tomorrow an get a sound video of it for u.

Cam up my 318, help me chose!

I had the magnum 270 hydraulic cam in my little 318 before I stroked it. It did sound cool, you could sure tell there was a cam in it. Performance wise I never raced it but seem to move my dart around pretty good. I had 355 gears, 600 edle carb, 318 heads ported with larger 1.88 intake valves...

    start up went good but

I have used this carb, it was on the car last fall before I took the engine apart. I put it in a plastic bag and put it on the shelf till I got around to finishing the engine. The carb was fine other than it was pig rich, but since then I changed jets and adjusted the floats and regulator and...

    start up went good but

So I just finished the cam break in and the first start up of my rebuilt engine. Everything went good, no leaks no funny noises from what I could tell over the engine idled up. Which is where the problem is. The engine fired right up but screamed, I had to jump out and work the choke to get it...

    no oil

Panic attack is over. I guess I just didn't run the drill long enough, it's getting plenty of oil it ran up over the rim on the head in no time. I'm not getting oil out the little holes on the top of the rockers though, but I think it may be that my drill can't spin fast enough to pressure up...

    no oil

I got it out of the small block mopar engines book page 121. It says crank up the dot will be pointing down and the cam dot will be pointing up to the 12 o clock position. Dot to dot. Is this wrong? Your saying the cam sprocket dot needs to be at 12 o clock with the engine upright. That might...

    no oil

So I was going to take my engine in an have it hooked up to a dyno. Well I was going to go ahead and prime it and put the intake back on and off to the shop. Well I am not getting oil to the rockers?. I'm not sure just yet where I screwed up but at least I caught it before it ran. I will start...
