Without the heater control valve, your heater core will have hot water all the time.

Check the gauge and sender by unplugging the wire from the sending unit and grounding it with a jumper wire. With the key on the gauge should swing all the way to the right (hot).

X2 check airflow.

You'll have to get it clean, clean, clean. Heat it up with torch and wire brush the crud off, put flux on and heat and wire brush again. You'll have to get the pores of the metal clean and "open" for the solder to flow into.

3" shroud would put the fan 3/4" in.

How far is the fan from the rad. now?

You'll also want to leave 1.5" or better between the fan and shroud for motor movement.

I've made shrouds from sheet metal also. The fan blade should protrude 3/4" into the shroud.

If both hoses are hot, make sure the plenum doors are actually moving fully when the selector on the dash is changed. I've had pencils, candy wrappers ect. keep the doors from moving.

High side is between compressor and cond. coil, up by radiator.Low side is from compressor to evap. coil, in heater housing behind firewall.

Your post came in while I was typing. Looks like gauges backwards and charge low.

I think we're saying the same thing......if his pressure readings are accurate, the compressor functioning, and the charge correct, the pressure would drop from the restriction back(thru the low side) to the compressor.With the pressure drop on the high side, the restriction would be somewhere...

If you have a restriction in the evap. core the low side would have the pressure drop. Have you put the correct full charge in it and tried it? Sometimes the depressor in the end of your hose doesn't press down on the shraeder core in the service port enough to read correcly. What does it read...

I need to get a radiator for my 65 barracuda. I'm putting a 360 in with the 70's aluminum water pump. I plan on running ac. What are my options for a radiator that will work with the water pump outlet on the opposite side from the 273? All the later stuff seems too tall. I'd like to not spend...

In my area, the radiator shops just want to sell new ones, they always tell me "it can't be fixed". I've taken a bernz-o-matic propane torch and soldered several leaks. The tough part is getting it clean. You'll have to damage some of the fins to get to the leak. I've even pinched off and...
