    Freon capacity

Don't know if there is anything in the system. Car sat for a few years. I took the ac belt off. Compressor would kick on, but blows hot . I'm going to take it to an AC shop, but I wanted to source the R12 Freon before taking it in.

    AC belt idler

Yes it is off the bracket. The top appears to have a crimp to keep the threaded rod for the bearing from going through the idler. Going to see if I can press it out . Don't want to screw it up though, I'm trying to keep the car as original as possible as it only has 30K miles and is unmolested...

    AC belt idler

The bearing is shot on the idler for the AC belt on my 66 barracuda. I have not found a replacement assembly but it looks like one could just replace the bearing. Anyone know if the bearing can be removed with a punch from front without damaging the idler, or is some special puller required...

    Heater hose routing

I ran the hose from the control valve and it works great, nice and toasty! Now on to the next job, replacing the leaky steering box and power steering pump. May have to rebuild the pump as I have not found a source for a rebuilt or new unit.

    Heater hose routing

My system has a control valve. It does have factory air, do that may be the difference, I don't know. According to the diagram, the hose from the valve goes to the intake manifold.

    Heater hose routing

I just replaced the heater core on my 66 barracuda with the 273V8. A shop bypassed the hose so the car could be driven. Question, does the hose coming from the heater control valve go to the intake manifold or water pump? Does anyone have a picture of the factory routing for the hoses? Thanks

Heater core r&r 66 barracuda with ac

Have the unit all cleaned up and ready to assemble. The two halves did not have a gasket but had what looks like plumbers puddy. I'm thinking I will just apply a small bead of gasket sealer. Any thoughts about doing that? Thanks again.

Heater core r&r 66 barracuda with ac

Thanks man, you helped me out. My unit is just like the one in fig 195. It is separate from the ac. Although I removed the four nuts on the cowl, it was not necessary. All that was needed was remove the heater hoses and cover, loosen the J bolt in the passenger side air vent, remove a couple...

Heater core r&r 66 barracuda with ac

Anyone have a link to how to replace the heater core in my 66. It has AC,but Don't know if it's factory or dealer added, it does have the under dash unit. I have the glove box out and plan on removing the front passenger seat and radio. It is my understanding I need to drop the whole unit, but...
