    Over Charging Issues

Thanks for the input guys. So far it seems that it is staying at 13.0 to 13.8 volts. I ground the back of the VR so that it would make ground on the firewall. Checked with my test light on the screws that mount it and everything seems grounded. If I find something else I will update again. Nice...

    Wiring an MSD 6AL-2

Yeah, I checked the switched 12 volt source and it's good. This is an anolog unit. Knowing my luck, I got a bad box, brand new. My luck is horrible. There is just not that many wires to hook up, or so it seems per the instructions. Should I just try to hook the small red wire to the orange wire...

    Wiring an MSD 6AL-2

The Ready to Run distributor is pretty simple. Just 3 wires. On my 6AL-2 it says to connect the single white wire to the orange wire coming from the distributor. I have the small red wire hooked to a 12 volt keyed source, also tried it to direct 12 volts. There is also a white and blue wire, but...

    Wiring an MSD 6AL-2

Hmmm. That's interesting. It shows the white wire in the 8360 diagram. If that's the case, it seems like a lot of extra wires being used. I don't mind trying that, but not sure if it will damage the box? I just bought this box brand new from Summit, so I'd hate to think it was bad. When is the...

    Wiring an MSD 6AL-2

Thanks for the prompt feedback 340. I guess if the white wire is the trigger wire, it's hooked to the orange wire coming from the distributor. Yes, I also tried just hooking the small red wire to the battery as well, still no spark.

    Wiring an MSD 6AL-2

Maybe someone here can help me.....again. This time an MSD 6AL-2 ignition box to my small block in my Barracuda. I already have a "Ready to Run" MSD distributor and coil. Car was running fine. Today, I tried to wire my new MSD to my ignition EXACTLY per the instructions and it will not fire...

    MSD Help please

I just figured out why my car would not 60 ft. I had HUGE springs in my MSD "Ready to Run" dist. Looked in the box and found the sets of silver and blue springs. I have one silver and one blue, and now the car seems to love it. My question is, which is the lighter spring, the blues or the...

    Msd 6al

Well put. My cylinder PSI, checking one cylindr at a time, with the spark plugs in the other cylinders and throttle blades closed, register from 170 to 180 psi. I was told the proper way to check cylinder pressure was to remove all plugs and hold the throttle blades open. I never spin it past...

    Msd 6al

Another million dollar question. Would an MSD 6AL ignition box help my MSD Ready To Run ignition? Right now I just have an MSD Blaster coil. Would I see any benefits from this? My distributor said it was an option to run the box. I have eliminated the ballast resistor as well. So far it runs...

    Rear Brake Switch

O.k., now I feel like a jackass......again. lol. I finally saw the other terminal tucked behind the bracket. Now if I can only figure out the rest of this Ron Francis electrical system....

    Rear Brake Switch

I must be missing something. I only see on terminal connector on the brake pedal switch. Is this switch somewhere else, perhaps further down the column? I see a 2 terminal plug at the end of the column, by the firewall, that is purple. The one I'm looking at however has only one terminal.

    Rear Brake Switch

Can someone please show me a pic of what the rear brake swith is supposed to look like on a 68 Barracuda? I'm installing my Ron Francis wiring system and it states that I supposed to have two sides to the brake switch, however I only have one. Please help.....again. Thanks, Darren

    Aftermarket Dash/Gauge Insert

I just got off the phone with Mike at Rocky Mountain Dashes. I will be ordering me a new dash from him as they look to be a pretty straightforward setup. Should make it easier for my new wiring installation. One question, will an Autometer fuel gauge work with my stock sending unit?

    Aftermarket Dash/Gauge Insert

How much for that setup? I am in the middle of installing a new wiring harness(Ron Francis) and would love a new more user friendly setup.

    MSD "Ready to Run" distributor

Well, my reason for asking is I'm also replacing the wiring harness with a Ron Evans wiring harness setup for electronic ignition. So I guess I don't need the ballast resistor?

    MSD "Ready to Run" distributor

Hey guys, Do I have to keep my ballast resistor if I switch to an MSD "Ready to Run" distributor? Thanks, Darren
