Does anyone know the orig equipment or stock stud length and knurl dia. for the 8 3/4 on a 71 Duster 340 car with disc front and drum rear (if that Matters)? Sloppy idler

Looks as though the slop is from the long bolt being loose in the frame holes. Should it be pretty snug? if so, should or how can you fix it to remove the slop? Thanks

    Sloppy idler

The idler arm I have fits pretty sloppy in the mounting holes. Is this normal or should there be no slop? If I tighten it down seems to be less noticeable. Do the holes in the frame get enlarged from age? How do you fix it? Thanks

Idler arm slop A body Dart

Thanks MHV. I finally figured it out and it was exactly that. Too much up and down movement. I shimmed with washers. Needs to be a tight fit and torque so the bushing inside does not move. I thought it needed to be somewhat loose so the bushing could swivel on the bolt. Wrong, it swivels on the...

Idler arm slop A body Dart

The more I look into this I see what might be happening. Is the bolt supposed to be what the bushing swivels on or is the bushing supposed to be tightened down between the K frame and not move and swivel outside of the bushing? Looks like I should shim the bushing to take up the slack in the K...

Idler arm slop A body Dart

Yep running radials. Centerlink looks good and tight. I can see the idler moving around and there is slop when I turn the wheels side to side. Any suggestions on where to get a idler that is a good tight fit on the bolt? Moog isn't very good at all.

Idler arm slop A body Dart

Should there be slop on the idler arm? The bolt fits loosly in the bushing. Looks around 1/16-1/8 clearance. I can move the bolt side to side when in the bushing. When installed and the car raised I can move the tire side to side and see it moving a lot. The car seems to track a lot when...

    4" to 4.5 disc swap????

Now that's an option I never heard before. Didn't know mustangs used the KH. I wonder if there could be a bearing available to replace the mustang bearing to make it fit the spindle. Do you know what Mustang years used KH? Guess the were 10" KH setups too. I'm assuming mid 60's to 70 like the...
