    Pinion Snubber to floor dimension?

If you have a welder and a rubber traction bar snubber.. or upper A arm snubber... you could make any height you need. I think the rule used to be 1 inch on automatic cars and 1/2 on stick shifts since the manual trans already "shocks" the tires harder anyway. Like previously stated.. it all...

Tubular upper arms-I feel lucky tonight

In regard to UCA failure, I've only had one experience where one failed, a stock one on my 88 D100 1/2 ton, which was about 12 years old at the time, and had about 100,000 miles on it. I was working on a construction job, where we were allowed to u-turn through the median of a divided interstate...

    Subframe Connector dilemma

Nicely done, Mopardude! Are you going to fully stitch weld all of it? One other item I saw done, was a crossmember added above the pinion area with plate reinforcement, to give the pinion snubber something more substantial than the floor pan to beat on. Easy to do, beneficial to users of the...

    Subframe Connector dilemma

Anything is better than nothing, the form fitting style would be all right for a street car. Look at a 2X3 tubing this way..a carboard box is fairly strong when complete, some will hold an impressive amount of weight and have a strong structure BUT...cut the top flaps open and it's pretty...

    the day to day grind

Whereas I can't help you with the grinding, got any pics of the car? I'm working on one too.... You didn't slide the column further in when you re-installed it. did you? Just a thought...might have somebody turn the wheel for you, with the front end clear of the ground, while you look for...

What to do , What to do?

you might contact fat Man Fabrications about their drop spindles. The ones in this ad are listed for Volare suspensions, but I swore I saw one of their ads listing them for other Mopars. Might be worth an email. http://www.fatmanfab.com/catalogpage.php?page=17 Home page...

How bad did I drop the ball?

Best to have a look at the hex ends, and the pockets they fit into, it's possible they had turned in the sockets over time. Especially before he stuffs the new ones in! The sockets the bars fit into may be damaged, and it would be better to find out now before ruining a new set of torsion bars...

Super Stock Springs - Let's see em'?

Very cool Valiant! And I remember the days when I told somebody what I had, and they usually said "It's a what?" Sometimes they still do. My dad ordered a brand new Signet, Seafoam Green, 273 3 speed, 8 3/4 16:1 manual steer, hd suspension trailer tow package with hitch delete. It died about...

    mini tub....74 dart !! what's involved ??

Instead of splitting the stock tub, I went ahead and used a preformed tub kit. Thinking someday I was going to put 14X32's under this Duster . You can see a little of what's involved in the interior shots. If I ever decide to do this to my Valiant, I'll spit the stock tubs and add a spacer, like...

    Check Your Steering Dampers

I know they sell a urethane replacement for the rag joint in a 70 Mustang, always wondered if it would work for the Mopar application. I think mine came from the Paddock. Yeah, I strayed from the brand....ONCE. Alan

Super Stock Springs - Let's see em'?

I used the relocation kit that moves the springs 1.5" in per side, allowing a 295-50 Radial TA on my 69 Valiant with stock wheelhouses. Mounted on 15X8.5" Centerlines. Using the 3 inch inboard kit, which puts them into/under the frame rails, allows even more. I wonder if tail pipes can still be...

    mini tub....74 dart !! what's involved ??

Just so you know....we used the "1.5" relocation kit on my 69 Valiant, as opposed to the S/S kit. With stock wheel houses and a 15X8.5 Centerline Auto Drag wheel, it has a 295-50-15 sitting comfortably under it. Pisses off my buddy with the 70 Camaro plenty! (he he) Not bad for a granma car...
