    gas tank cleaning...

    ^^^^^x2 pea gravel and agitate. I scrubbed with a baby bottle brush duct taped to flexible rod. Worked fine....low cost!

    Fuel tank vent line

    I put a fuel filter on the vent hose and his it up high. My charcoal canister was gone long ago. Not saying it's the best, but it's working fine for now.

    Concur-best to buy a new tank. If the rest of the tank is in good condition you can try and find a welder who will patch it. Old, bold welders usually fill it with water or blow carbon monoxide in...not many old, bold welders left for a reason!(lol)...most guys won't mess with it and O don't...

    X2 on the timing. I advanced mine and the bog went away. Went to purchase the secondary air adjustment tool and they're sold out and discontinued. Might be a project for a rainy day to make one.

    You'll get many different answers on the best carb. Why did the guy who tuned it advise you to switch it out? TQ's can get vacuum leaks as they don't use bushings on their shafts. I personally like the TQ (original equipment and the huge secondaries look and sound cool) and since you have one...

    Ditto water...can do CO2 first, let sit, then fill w/h2o...that's what guys around here do to weld on propane tanks that are being converted...never had a problem.
