    Custom Grill

That is bad ***... I am going to go custom with mine too and you now have me looking in whole new direction for my '75 Duster. I like the mesh look. Joe

I will look for that, you think it's available online? Eh.. I'll google for it. Thanks for the tip. Joe

    Flush Mount Glass

Hmmm.. I hadn't thought about that yet. The car's still on the rotisserie and the interior isn't even on my mind yet. Good catch. I will have to look at it. The tail light flush mount you were talking about is something I am looking at as well. My Duster is a 75. Bumpers, yep, I'm gonna...

    Flush Mount Glass

Anyone out there ever try to do flush mount glass for their classic Duster? I am doing some slight mods along the way with my car to give it a bit more modern feel; changing out door handles for something more stream lined and shaving the drip rails, marker lights and lock cylinders. Well I...

    74 duster

Hmmm... I never even knew they came with a fold down rear seat. That is pretty cool. I'll be lurking on this post. :) Keep the pics coming. Joe

    Stripping...

I used a propane torch and a scraper.... it sucked. If you still have any interior in there you could wind up with a carbeque if your not careful. All I'm saying is I wouldn't use a torch underneath if you still have the carpet on the floor or it will most certainly catch fire or melt on you...

    Mini tub question

Cool.. That is what I figured. I hated to lose that little bit of realestate. Thanks for the quick reply. I am heading back to the garage now. Joe

    Mini tub question

I am curious how some of you have completed the relocation of the wheel well specifically at the frame rail; The frame rail has a lip on the top where it meets the trunk pan that rolls out to the outside of the rail (about a .75 inch lip). My question is when you mini-tubbed it did you...

Go mango orange or Hemi Orange ?

I don't know about Go Mango but the Hemi Orange is iridescent as well. I have a 75 Duster that, at this point, will be painted in Hemi Orange. Of course this is the 3rd color scheme I have picked and I still have plenty of prep work to do; so it could change. I do like the Go Mango though...

    Need a good laugh??

Wow! That is incredible. It is amazing what you find out there in this hobby. I think once you fix it correctly, you may actually shave 100 pounds of the car! If you add up the bondo and metal coupons! Good luck, be daring and don't give up. Joe

    '75 duster windshield gasket

I just saw this thread. I have 75 Duster that I just took the windshield out of about 3 months ago. It had the gasket and locking gasket (i.e. 2 piece), not that it helps you now. 8) Just FYI. Joe

    Painting Your Underside

Is this the Rust Mort your talking about? http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/sem69508.html I am assuming that this would take care of any flash rusting or mild surface rust before applying the Epoxy Primer, correct? Then based on the previous post; if there are any areas with a bit more...

    Painting Your Underside

I have always intended to paint the underside the same color as the body, I am assuming this is the normal practice. At any rate I like the look of it. So the Rust Encapsulator can be painted over with the Epoxy Primer right? I am assuming that since it has been sand blasted there is no need...

    Painting Your Underside

I just had the underside of my Duster sand blasted and now I am wondering what is the best way to keep it from rusting while I work on it and what is the best way to finish it (paint, rust encapsulator, type of primer, etc.) I scraped all the undercoating off with a torch and scrapers and...

    Remove Undercoating

I just started scraping mine. I used a propane torch and a metal scraper. I got half of it done in one day. I think I may use a little solvent to get the rest off, before I send it to the blaster. Heating it with a torch is the only way I have found to get it done. It goes fairly quick once...

    Custom Grills

I don't know if anyone makes them. I am looking to make some of the mods on my own just for the satisfaction of completing them on my own and to get the fabrication experience. Also; my grill is in pretty sad shape, it looks good from a distance but it's got several broken pieces and the mount...

    Custom Grills

Nice work Pastor... That Dart looks awesome. I am looking to make subtle changes to my car, just like you did, that contribute the overall "coolness" factor and give it my own personal touch. I was at the "Good Guy's" car show here in Colorado this past weekend and saw a Camaro with some...

    Custom Grills

Has anybody fabricated a custom grill for their Duster (or any other A-body)? If so please post some pics. I am considering using some aluminum round stock to fab a custom grill insert similar to the one I have pictured below, compared to the original, that I found on the net. I intend to...

Mounting a Duster on the Rotisserie

Mounting a Duster on the Rotisserie

I took a look at your rotisserie. I see how you addressed the "non-fixed" rotating assembly by fixing the position of the tube on the top of the upright and using a pin. I wanted to make sure the whole thing was very configurable since my friend is going to use it on his 73 Trans Am next...

Mounting a Duster on the Rotisserie

Here's some links to get you started, this is what I worked from, but I made some minor mods: http://members.tripod.com/~mopar_roadster/body_rotisserie.html http://www.mts.net/~hpokrant/Restoration_Tips/1-Rotisserie/Rotisserie.htm (this guy is a member here, thanks for your informative...

Mounting a Duster on the Rotisserie

I intend to mount a tab to the movable piece on the rotating assembly so that I can use a bottle jack mounted to a movable base that can travel up and down the upright. For both the front and rear. Joe

Mounting a Duster on the Rotisserie

Here are some pics of the front upright and the cross member that will be mounted to the front of the Duster. I still have to weld up some 3x3 angle on the mounting tabs so that I can use the bumper mount (side of frame rail) and the front K frame mount (bottom of frame rail) as the mount...

Mounting a Duster on the Rotisserie

I just built a rotisserie for my Duster resto and I'm ready to mount it up. My question is; How do I determine the best point for the roll axis? Is there some measurement I should use for each end to make sure I have it centered so it is easy to roll? Or just trial and error? I am...

    Trim removal

Any luck with removing the trim? I am getting ready to do the same thing myself and was wondering how to do it. I purchased the kit from Harbor Freight as well, about a year ago, and I am just getting around to using it. I had no clue which tool was the right one though, until I read this...
