Got a voice mail from Classic today that the grilles are in stock and shipping. Now I just have to decide if I REALLLLYYYYY WANT ONE. I was dead set on having one for the car. I have had the car out a couple of times and mentioned that I was waiting on a sharktooth grille to come available...

Body color with Lizard Skin....

I made the trip up to see the car in person and look at the decal placement. Looking at pics of unrestored cars they were all over the map on placement with most further back. That looked awkward to me so looking at it in person we decided on this......

Tried to order 340 WEDGE decal from Peformance Car Graphics. They no longer produce that decal. Does anyone know where to get a quality hood decal? I was told to make sure it was not a bumper sticker material?

Anyone happen to know if there are any differences in 70-74 Duster/Dart Sport drip rail mouldings? Also are the drip rail mouldings, like B-bodies. Where the trim is different for vinyl top and non-vinyl top cars?

Anyone used the 2007 Sublime (metallic) to paint an FJ5 car? Does the sublime metallic look out of place on the older cars? Just trying to decide on using the original formula 1970 FJ5 or the 2007 version.

Looks like you have some time just in the taping!! You could also look into a product called liquid mask. A lot of hobby painters use it. Brush it on and let it dry. When you want to peel sections up you cut it with a hobby knife and it peels up like a skin. Anyway, keep the progress pics...

if it is "solid and complete", being a pretty rare car to start with. I would think you could get a decent price selling the car as is and not "sinking" a bunch of your time into parting it out.

The discussion was around 70-71 LA A-body cars. I have never researched 69-earlier cars for restoration.

You are right... I do have a choice. I choose to live with my wife which is 350 miles from where the car is being painted!!! :) Plus I choose to let the shop do what they are in the business to do. I will stay here, 350 miles from where the work is being done! $600 is not exactly worth...

I don't think I would call it a full resto. However, everything that bolts on is coming off the car. Mainly because I wanted the bottom of the car body color. To me, a resto would be taking the car back to original. This car is going to be original color, but it ends there. The Duster was /6...
