I run a msd blaster 2 coil mounted exactly like yours. I have been using the same coil since the '90s. The quality for coils these days are hit and miss.

Put your foot on the brake pedal,start the burnout with your foot still on the pedal. Push the button,remove your foot from the pedal. The car will hold it's position. I have all brake drums on my car.It works for me.

How long do you think 2000rpms is going to last when leaving the line,the rpm will be greater with a blink of an eye.

I have a drum brake car and it works with no problems.Put your foot on the brake,push the button,start your burnout,take your foot off the brake,keep your finger on the button till your finished.
