    If I remember correctly the switch has a common weak point whare they crimp the body together that always leaks also with the slant iff the sensor came out their would be no oil in the crank case in a matter of seconds. it like a 1/2 hole in the oil pump

    Slant mpg

    I was getting around low 20's then I switched to a 2 bbl manifold and a motocraft 2100 carb and got just below 30 MPG. If you are getting bad MPG you might need a carb rebuild, very common week point on the slant. 1 bbl is way to small so it bogs down your power and MPG.

    well actually you can get the o.d. trans out of any A body 75 and newer the best way to tell is the alum case, also the truck version has an alum main case but an iron tail stock I think thier is someone on slantsix.org that is selling one now really reasonable also thier is one on ebay aswell

    I would go with dutra dules they are an awsome way to get more power without any lose of drivability in the winter
