    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

Nice one. Is there a build thread on here? I had a look around I can't seem to find one. Would love to see/know more about it. should be a real beast with big-block-like torque output.

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

You may be right. The alternator gets about 90 degrees of belt wrap. The power steering pump gets a little less, but it's a much larger pulley, so contact area is probably more. I'll take the gamble. If they slip and squeal terribly I'll come up with a more complex serpentine setup later. Also...

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

That's super cool. What are you changing? It looks quite well sorted. 6 rib should be fine for those pulleys, that m112 blower is capable of a lot more if you ever choose to spin it harder though. Since you were asking about snouts a few posts back, the closest thing I know of to a snout of...

HARROP | Engineering, Superchargers, Brakes, Driveline, Engine, 4WD, Cooling Some excellent belt/pulley tech. They explain it way better than I ever could.

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

6 Rib will have a lot more parts availability and belt lengths. But may slip under lots of load at high rpm. What size is the magnuson blower and what size pulleys are you running? The bigger you can run both (crankshaft and blower) pulleys the better, it essentially increases surface area and...

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

Also I took a pic of the tensioner mounting hub to show how it can be clocked for setting up the desired angle and preload. You can see that each number consecutively moves the tensioner alignment a few degrees counter clockwise.

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

I think this may be my final mock-up in plywood before starting to fab things out of steel and aluminium. It's not pretty, but with any luck it can all work and be reliable.

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

Correct. The part number for the tensioner is 89440 and it'a a Dayco. The tensioner came with a flat pulley for a 12 rib which was *HUGE* and ridiculously heavy. I swapped it for a 10 rib double-bearing idler from a Volvo truck that I got off ebay for cheap. But it seems that any of the 10 rib...

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

In that photo the tensioner is both misaligned and also I'm using a belt that is a few inches too long, making the arm rest at almost full extension. It was just a mock-up, though. I have since raised the tensioner higher to allow more room in that area for the accessories. a lot of it's...

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

04-07 sounds about right. Haven't tig welded the snout yet, I have thought about JB weld too but haven't looked at it closely. If it has to be tig welded I'll get someone who can tig a lot better than me so it can look pretty and not leak oil everywhere.. As for adding a spacer, I know Cobra...

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

Cheers man, I need to update this with some progress. There's been a lot of trial and error with getting the accessory drive to fit in an early valiant. The M90 grand prix snout is one I purchased off ebay, so I don't have the exact details. I think they said it's from an early-mid 2000's car...

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

Sorry guys, not a whole lot of noteworthy progress for show and tell. It's still all happening, but other projects plus work commitments have taken priority. I tend to pick away at this in between other things so progress is pretty slow. I've collected most of the EFI parts. Which adds up in...

    5.9 magnum with M122 blower/intercooler

Hey guys. Been working on this for a while now, still a long way to go but it's starting to take shape. Thought I'd share some pics I took recently. (Edited for more info below) The Blower and intercooler are both from an 07-12 Ford GT500 5.4L, these blowers are capable of supporting about...

Is a MP 509, 292 purple shaft a decent cam on a supercharged motor

This cam would make an excellent cam for a streetable blown small block. Especially for the price. Summit Racing® Classic Cam and Lifter Kits SUM-K6901 If you want something a bit "bigger", try something more like this one. Summit Racing® Cam Kits SUM-K50062 Interestingly, this second camshaft...

    Supercharging Guides / Books

I have a copy of "a complete guide to street supercharging" by pat ganahl. It's an interesting read, a very good starting point and busts a few commonly held misconceptions and provides some history on various common types of superchargers, some i'd never heard of. How useful it is to you...

Very cool! I'm just wondering how you find the tuning and features with ms3pro? Any advantages over a MS3X?

    SBM with Novi 2000

Nice build! should be a lot of fun. One thing I am concerned about is that it looks like you have edelbrock LA heads. if it is a magnum block, as you mentioned. these heads might not be compatible with your block. The LA heads oil the top end through holes drilled in the block. The magnum...

    6-71 blower on a 340

I agree about charts being a good start. There's no hard and fast rule but there are guidelines. These charts are put out by the manufacturers of the superchargers, such as hollley (weiand), dyers, littlefield etc. So they are indicative of typical results. Your motor is way way... way outside...

    6-71 blower on a 340

Hi there, Are you sure about this? I have never run a 6/71 first hand but know they displace approx 411" every revolution (360 crank degrees) a 340 mopar engine motor inhales 340" every *second* revolution. (or 720 crank degrees) Therefore hypothetically it be would trying to cram 822" into a...

    318 Poly Turbo A Body

very nice work! I look forward to seeing more. Is there much clearance between the engine sump/oil pan and the center tie rod? Looks like it might be back a few inches more than a standard sump would be on an LA motor?

    intercooled intake for mopars

That looks really impressive! I've actually been working on something similar for about 8 months now using a mixed bag of OEM components and some "backyard" engineering and ingenuity. Fingers crossed it will come to fruition and be functional. Mine will certainly never look as pretty as yours...

    late model blowers

Nice work on the mustang. How does it go? have you had it on the strip? I have wanted to try an Eaton M122 supercharger on a magnum 5.2 or 5.9 engine (blower from an 07-12 gt500). I plan to use an in-manifold water to air intercooler and a megasquirt ECU.
