everything pulls inward to the passenger compartment. Make sure you have all the connections and nuts off the firewall that hold the box and A/C-heater hoses....

the 74 has different firewall holes, dash controls, etc. It can be done. Strip everything you can from the 74, ie... the entire dash frame as a unit, the entire a/c system. you may even want to cut out the firewall from the wiper motor to the passenger inner fender to get all the correct...

I don't think the M body air box will work, it is configured differently.

you could switch the upper tanks, just soldered on, might take a few tries to get it sealed.

can you post pics of the dash and engine compartment to see if everything is there

big black/gray box under the dash on the pass side. bolts thru the firewall. cables and wiring attached too. take it slow and remember how its done. then, once it is out(the big box), it will need split...remove clips, and there it is.

Ithink they channged some in 73-74. A/c units might be different too.

you may be able to unbolt everything and put the compressor to the side while you yank the motor, been a while since I pulled a /6. That way you leave all the hoses connected.
