    340 overheating problem

So I thought I'd let everyone know I got it all figured out. I added another fan, the same as I have as a puller, in the front as a pusher. I got a smaller trans cooler for the now tighter fitment and she stays cool no mater what. Never gets over 185. Even hammering on it. Thanks guys for all...

    340 overheating problem

So I installed a 160 thermostat and now runs cooler longer , but once it gets hot, it keeps climbing. As far as the water pump. Just a factory one. Never counted the blades. I do have an overflow on now. I double checked the Cfm on my fan and its 2200. I'm thinking I need another fan. Like a...

    340 overheating problem

Thanks guys. I'm not sure what its degreed in at. My engine shop is very good at what they do, and that part I haven't asked. I'm sure they did it as per lunati's instructions. But that is one area I have no expertise in.

    340 overheating problem

So guys just an update. Put a new mechanical auto meter gauge on it. Still getting overheating issues. I feel like its an air pocket. ( I could be completely wrong!!) but after every cruise once the engine has cooled down, the fluid drops about 2-3inches. So I add more water every time. It...

    340 overheating problem

Had a flex fan on last year only for a couple runs. Got hot but not as hot as it does now. Keep in mind it was cooler then. At the start of this season I ran the electric set up u see now and it ran cooler. Ever since we pulled the engine and put it back in for the second time it's running...

    340 overheating problem

Sorry guys been busy for a bit. About the converter it's a 3800 stall. With a trans cooler. The water pump is fine. The cooling is getting better. Went to a couple shows over the week and every morning I woke up I checked the rad and its been down a couple inches. So I'm getting the air out. But...

    340 overheating problem

As far as timing right now, my engine builders tech came over last night to help with the break in. Brought over his badass digital timing gun and we put it a 18 initial and 32 total for now. He is coming back this weekend to do some more dialing in

    340 overheating problem

The pump is fine. We went over all that last week when then engine was torn down. To make a long story short. This is a fresh rebuild of a rebuild motor that had only 100 miles on it. ( we heard a noise. Engine builder took everything apart, couldn't find a problem. Checked everything Thanks for...

    340 overheating problem

Hey guys, I'm not saying that 210-220 is overheating but hotter then is like to be. My 340 is .40 with aluminum heads. "Northern" aluminum rad ( stock size). One electric fan. The fan is over to the side because it would hit pulley if centered. Have 50/50 mix with a bottle of redline...
