    Aftermarket Coolant Overflow Tank

I found that the jaz recircluating type is pretty versatile in fitment and are cheap - around 20$.

Help! How do you remove the transmission lines from the radiator w/o breaking them?

You can patch them together without using rubber line. Get (2) 5/16 " compression unions and put them in.

    cooling issues

Hi Tom thanks for the thoughts. The overheating issue occurred whether moving or not. I figure an acid test is running it in the garage, which is what I have been doing. Weather has not been conducive to driving. Its a convertable and the top needs work. Anyway, I put the new 18" 7 blade fan...

    cooling issues

Well, its been a while since I posted on this issue, and I learned some things. Since this car isn't gonna get driven much more this year (it was 38 F this morning), I can afford to be very deliberate before spending money. Sometimes procrastination is your best friend, that and a memory. I...

    cooling issues

Interesting thoughts. I don't have the top tank filled all the way when its running as I am worried about it overflowing, with the thermometer stuck in the cap. But even still I cant imagine its going to hold much more than 1 additional quart. I'll give it a shot, later this week. On a business...

    cooling issues

I'd thought about the pump too, but the previous engine (dead stock 318 2bbl) had an 8 blade pump as well, with the old radiator core, and had no issues cooling it, no shroud and using a 4 blade solid drive fan. The core that's in it has more tubes per inch than the standard style. According...

    cooling issues

I posted on moparts about the problems Im having with my 66, if anyone happened to read it. The engine is a freshly overhauled 060 318, 9:1 compression ratio, mp 268/272 .455 cam, shortie headers, running a 600 cfm carb., 302 heads pocket ported with 1.88/1.60 valves. It has maybe 4-5 hours...

    Heater hose orientation

Off hand I dont know which is which, but keep in mind on non ac cars the coolant flows continuously thru the heater core whether you are asking for heat or not. THe heat is regulated by blending with outside air from the passenger side floor vent box. Not sure about AC cars, they may have a shut...

    AC bracket

The compressors should be the same. A v twin unit normally called an RV-2, looks like a small harley motor - sort of. The brackets should all be interchangeable as long as you swap all the pieces over from one unit to the other. Clutches should be the same as well. Hope this helps.

    Need Bigger Radiator?

Put it together and test what youve got, then decide. No sense in spending money if what you've got works ?

    72 Heater Core Removal

Removing and installing the heater box difficult in an A body ? Piece of cake, just follow the instructions posted above and its not so hard. The big thing is to find the J hook bolt inside the passengers side vent door, lots of folks forget this. As mentioned above be sure to remove this. Ive...

    Radiator support

I doubt the /6 cars had a different core support in terms of height. As far as the opening is concerned the width would be radically different, a v8 should have a 22 inch vs 18 inch or something like that opening on a slant car. My guess is you have the wrong radiator. I've got a late 60's 22...

    Coolant in oil 273

Anything is possible as far as a water leak into the crank case from the water pump bolts - but I would imagine only if the cover is really really bad. Changing the topic a little - I bought a set of .030 pistons for a 273 from a guy who rebuilt his - started it and tore it apart after one...

    14" fan + 360 = overheat

Something to keep in mind is that a cooler thermostat only controls the initial opening temperature, It wont do anything for the temperature if the fan or waterpump isnt moving enough water or air, it might slow the overheating conditions onset - thats all. Put a three row radiator in it with a...
