    Garage heat

Save your pennies and invest in something that will be your best friend for many winters to come. Have you priced seasoned cord wood lately? Propane fired, exterior vented with exterior combustion air. I use 2, 100# tanks and have never used a full one in one winter however my garage is very...

    So a mechanic tries plumbing......

I’ve had luck using a good shop wetvac sealed at the top of the drain and tapping the cast with a hammer at the clog. If you can free it up at all some of it should come free enough to be sucked back up. Good luck.

Lift Bundle End Supports repurpose thread

I used mine to make a parts cleaner. Threw an abandoned two basin stainless sink on top and casters on the bottom corners with a shelf welded across the bottom. Bam....free parts cleaner.

    Wheel Bearing Packer

I have one too....I keep it in a ziplock bag. It has a zerk fitting on the top of it so I can put my grease gun right on it but I prefer the palm of my hand method.

    What solvent for parts washer?

I use a 5 gallon bucket in mine with about 4 gallons of mineral spirits and 1 quart of transmission fluid to lubricate my pump....20 gallons seems like a lot but mines home made from a stainless old sink and self gabbed stand. It won’t chemically clean like the old safety clean days but it works.

    Shop Heat

A Modine HDS 45, 45,000 btu unit. Good for a 2 to 2.5 garage space. I really love it. It uses outside air for combustion thuis no issue of spontanious dust combustion from using the garage air as combustion air.

The upstairs is unheated and 50* is plenty warm when your moving around but I have to admit I'm frugal with my propane use.

    Shop Heat

I go through 2, 100# propane bottles a year. My garage is well insulated and I keep it between 50 and 60*f when I'm in there which is nearly all weekend and occasionally at night until spring arrives then I practically live out there. I'll get pics up in a bit.
