The washer is the Hughes machined that they want used with their cams on magnum engines. It’s very thick and has the key way machined in it. After I saw it and compared it to stock I don’t think it really matters which type you use. A money maker for them maybe.

As the professor said, The cam plate holds the cam in place and the eccentric washer and bolt hold the cam timing gear and eccentric in place. You’ll def need to break it down to this level but the gears and chain shouldn’t have to be removed if your careful. I’d def put the #1 cylinder at tdc...

I'm running the magnum eddy air gap with LA cover, water pump and pully's with power steering. I used the stock LA hose in question and it was a ***** to get on with the long air gap fitting that came with the intake but you can muscle it on with no kinks and get a smooth profile if your patient...

That intake fitting comes off at a 90* angle unlike the LA style intakes that are more like a 45. You might have to trim the hose down a bit and muscle it on but it’ll go on ok.

It can be done either way. You can use a neutral balanced converter with a stock magnum weighted flex plate which is def the preferred and easiest method or you can use a weighted converter with a neutral balance flex plate. I’ve done it both ways and find it much simpler using the stock magnum...

Well that’s not good. The weights should have been secure in the foam. I blame shoddy shipping when’s that kind of thing happens.

That's a good point. I wouldn't be able to help there. It didn't require a spacer on my engine, which did come with an original magnum damper.

I'm using LA everything that's not magnum specific like intake and heads. The motor's a 1998 5.9 Mopar performance crate 300hp straight from Ma Mopar so it came equipped with LA componants.

i've had this one on my 5.9 magnum for about 8 years. Very happy with it.

It sounds great. Has a bit of a rumble lump. You def know it’s not stock. The Hughes lifters make some noise...sounds like a flat tappet...just like they said it would. Pretty cool all in all.

Checked my clearances and assembled. All good. Break in went great. Started on first crank. Now dialing in the timing and fuel.

Tim at Hughes assured me it would be ok on my stock magnum heads with their spring kit. This is from “MagnumSwap.com” There is a persistent rumor that the Magnum engine will not tolerate camshafts with higher than .520 lift due to retainer/lock to valve guide clearance issues. This is not true...

I’m in the process of installing a Hughes 1418 also using recommended Upgraded spring and lifter kit. It’s a bit higher lift but Hughes says no problem with clearances. Stock 5.9 Magnum head and pushrods. Lash preload on new lifters looks right on with non adjustable stock rockers. Can’t wait...

I used stainless. The intake bolts take a very low torque value to snug up to spec.

I used a stock hose....a little razor trim did the trick and some muscle grease to position it in an acceptable manner. Looks pretty awesome all painted up.

Love my Magnum... 1998 360/300 MP Magnum crate swapped the M1 dual plane for the Eddy RPM Air Gap and running a streetdemon 625. Man that car goes good.
