    727 46RH conversion coming

This is the box I used. There’s a complete listing of components on cuda-challenger.com under the thread 727 to A518 swap, a novice guide. Page 8 post 119 from member katfish. I used lots from this list. Special thanks to katfish for all the legwork. sorry I wasn’t able to paste it in a good...

Pinion Angle? Do I have this right before I cut it up?

Isn't it possible to lose 1 or 2 or more degrees under load?...bringing him back out of the acceptable range? Could shim down 4* first and see where it is.

    727 46RH conversion coming

You’ll see after you fab the upper crossmember and mock up the tranny the additional clearancing you might need to do. I wanted to leave the inside bolt locations in tact and the shape of the trans housing really doesn’t allow for a straight vertical transition at all....it just won’t fit with...

    727 46RH conversion coming

Here’s another good link US Car Tool A518 Cross member It shows how the upper crossmember can be left in place and fabricated to remove enough material and be refit to have enough clearance. This is what I did but lots of guys have just cut that section out and replaced it with a good fitting...

    42RH / A-500 in a Duster with pictures.

Here’s another great thread. Has anyone successfully used the USCartool A500 Crossmember? This one was done by MileHighDart. He and I did ours about the same time. I did mine just as he was finishing his up. He was a great inspiration. Loads of info in this thread.

You’ll find There are a few threads on this swap with a quick search. Here’s my 727 to 46rh swap thread. 727 46RH conversion coming In all the swaps I’ve seen to an A500 or 518 they’ve all required the upper crossmember to be cut and reconfigured or replaced somehow. The tunnel also usually...

What causes my driveshaft to "jump" in this video?

I have a slight whine under load too. Helical Detroit true trac so suspect pinion bearing but all is tight, unless it’s a trait of the helical gear set. Been like that for 10 years and has never changed...did have a bad axle bearing a while back but caught that right away and the diff whine...

    Neutral safety switch questions ??

Single pin switch up to 67 I believe. The single pin switch doesn’t work in place of the 3 pin. Middle pin is nss and can be wired as such in older wired single pin harnesses. My 95 46rh uses the 3pin and I just wired the center pin nss to my 67 harness using the 3 pin pig tail. Works great.

8 3/4 ring gear change for optimum low end performance

The first time I ran it from a dead stop in drive but I wanted to confirm/compare and the 46rh has a tf2 kit in it and I verified it in 1st gear to be sure it would be close. I know it’s not a true manual valve body as it can and is driven in drive quite frequently but it shifts very well both...

8 3/4 ring gear change for optimum low end performance

Confirmed the stall speed today. Yup right at 2000 rpm. I totally understand it’s truly about my wants and performance adaptation to my driving habits and at this point you’ve all given me great input and information. I’m going to stay with the 3.55’s and go for the higher stall converter for...

8 3/4 ring gear change for optimum low end performance

OK...this is where I need to give more info...I did brake stall test only today...I know...big dummy...I'll try to get a flash stall tomorrow. Working nights this week...sucks. The converter does have an HS sticker on it. Is flash stall typically higher than brake stall? The car really runs...

8 3/4 ring gear change for optimum low end performance

Did a stall test today and it looks like a 2000 stall converter. The tach showed about 1950 when wheel spin occurred so I guess it could be a 1900 stall but I'm not sure there's such a thing.

8 3/4 ring gear change for optimum low end performance

You’re right AJ....I just reread it three times and can’t find where you made the edit but I’ll be figuring out my flash stall tomorrow if the weather stays good. Do you think I should consider a 3000 stall if I stay with the 3.55’s until the budget allows for steeper rear gears? Having the...

They spin pretty good but could always use more low end torque if I'm not sacrificing too much lock-up rpm....lol. I
