The BEST Way I Have Found to "Paint" Exhaust Manifolds!

It's a spray graphite that dries to a gray. It can be hand buffed with a paper towel to a sheen and is super easy to touch up in place. It doesn't fade or discolor. It'll come off on your skin if you rub up on it but easily washed off. I used it on mine after I wired wheeled them and am very...

What's a good coating for exhaust manifolds???

I used slip plate graphite in a spray can. You can get it at NAPA for about 12 bucks a can. Spray it on, let it dry, buff it out by hand with paper towels to a shine. Looks great and lasts forever. It will rub off on your hand if bump up against it but looks totally natural...

    right manifold 340/360

The driver side magnum won’t work without at least some kind of modification as the professor has stated. I’d stay away from it and go with the 340/360 you have. The passenger side magnum manifold is the best way to go with the least restriction and plenty of working space....also allows easy...

    exhaust coating options

I was once told buy a powder coat guy who did some work for me and owned his own coating company that any good powder coater can do a good ceramic coating job on headers, inside and out, for a reasonable cost. He did great work for me. I've never had headers done but it makes sense.

    Tail pipes location!

The turn downs were last used in 67. No chrome or stainless just good old steel turndowns. In 68 Ma went to the rectangular shape loved by most. I have Gibson polished stainless turndowns on my 67 which I purchased from a member here but they're 2 1/2's and tucked nicely under. I know TTI makes...

X pipe H pipe or side by side

I asked my exhaust guy, a verrry knowledgable custom exhaust manufacturer and racer, both circle track and strip and this is what he said. The difference between "X" and "H" pipes is where you intend to use them. "X" pipes are more for circle track racing because they scavenge better at higher...

X & H pipe vs straight dual exhaust

My exhaust expert buddy told me x pipes are for circle track cars....and H's are for go straight and hot rod cars....something about certain performance flow gains at certain RPM ranges. He gave me an H on mine and I must say it sounds pretty awesome.

Stacey Davids Gearz. H pipe verses X pipe

Rob hit it it right. My custom exhaust guiys says x's are for circle track and H's are for us guys. Something to do with certain rpm powerband use in different cercumstances. Made sense to me but sometimes even that straight line is hard for me to walk.

    X or H cross.

I raised this very same question to my custom exhaust guy just before he made my H pipe duals up. My nephew has worked for him for a few years off and on while going to school and he's got a fantastic reputation in the New England area. His name is Dave and his shop is called Skip's custon...
