That is the same way I tried to do mine. The mount would not let loose though. I had the car lifted clear off the ground with the motor, and it still would not budge with me jumping on it it. (over 200 pounds)

No. That one is like the one i bought at autozone. It curves to the side. It is not the right shape and wont work. I already tried it. I returned it to the store already. But it is not long enough and is different angles for the bolt to go in.

I have already got a 72 idler arm. It wont work. the bolt goes up.

Well I do know that he arms were different from the generation before mine. I got one thinking it might work. SO im hoping that they changed that and made it easier to get to.

thats the thing. i held the replacement 73 up to the one and it didnt line up.

Thanks. I looked at all the site you guys posted and they are all different than the idler arm on my car. Some have a part at the end that i dont have and the other ones are bent to the side. mines not bent like that.
