Need a cordless impact wrench... Suggestions, please

I went with the big 1/2" Milwaukee with around 1,400lb torque. It's pretty sweet. Many recommend battery straps and gun covers to protect them. Not as durable as the ol' metal air impacts.

    Connecting Rod Splitter

I'm not sure "tapping some holes in a vise" is a terrible idea. I have a couple smaller ones myself that dont get used. Slice some Alum stock to replicate the pic above and mount to the vise. Pretty quick deal with a bandsaw and a drill press.

    Shop Press

I have the 12 ton one as well but blew the jack out and upgraded to the 20 ton jack. If I had to buy again I'd definitely get the 20 ton to start.

Article on best penetrating oil for rusty nuts

The new WD-40 Rust Specialist, or whatever it's called is pretty good. 100 times better than standard WD-40, imo. Figured it was junk until I had some stuck parts in my buddies shop. Within 15-20 minutes it ate thru the rust and everything came apart with a good whack of the hammer.

    Got Torque Wrench? LOL

Nice score. I've got a few "antique" dial torque wrenches I scored this year. Just don't trust the "click" one I have.

    Hydraulic Press safety questions

Hell ya. We need a sticker that says that. Perfect reminder as it's starting to "creak".

    Hydraulic Press safety questions

I have a similar press. Taking your time to set everything in a good vertical line is key. Allowing time for penetrating oil or a little heat too. Another item is a good bushing driver set. Made my life so much easier. Using makeshift drivers, sockets, etc is a good way to have an accident.

    cheap OB2 scanners??

I picked one up off ebay for about $17 delivered a couple weeks ago. My daily driver trips a coolant code once in awhile. I can now clear it myself. Works great. No batteries. Just plug in, read code & clear...

Insulation done! Shop heater questions. Electrical gurus.

I'd prefer a vented propane wall mount setup. Much cheaper to run than electric.

Mig Welder Choice 110 or 220

Definitely will check on the wire, though I think I've been using .025 already. May try one of those magnetic copper plates. That may help.

Mig Welder Choice 110 or 220

I'm a novice welder. I own a nice 220v Lincoln setup with gas. Done some small repairs. Striker replacement, fender repair, etc. Never tackled quarter panels. Would I be better off with a 110v with gas for the quarter panels? Have to keep the 220v welder really low or it will blow thru. Thanks.

    looking for a mig welder

You could probably get a 110 mig off craigslist if you give it a few weeks. Many want to upgrade. I have a Lincoln 175 (220v) as well & it's great but i'm sure a decent 110 with gas would be great for floors, quarters, etc. You'll be more in the mid range of the welder. My 220v unit mostly runs...
