You say "your shaft" is 7" long and the one you bought is 8" long. Is your car already a standard shift car? The difference in length of the z bar shaft is from.... The longer one is for a slant six and the shorter shaft is for a v8 equipped car..... I believe! I hope this helps.

I believe the the tail housings will swap out. You will need to grind away the front mounting pad to clear the torsion bar frame. Cannot comment on the pedal assy. due to me not knowing, sorry.

That spring helps pull the pedal to the floor. When you have a pressure plate that is heavy, it will help. The newer design clutch ( the one with all the fingers) don't need the extra help to depress it. I ask myself this same question but I have since removed the spring and the pedal is a...

I'm thinking it won't fit. B body's shifter mounting point is further forward than an A body. Well, it will bolt on but the bends in the shifter handle will make it awkward to operate...... If at all.

Does the transmission have two mounting pads for the shifter? If so, you are good. You will need to grind down the front pad to clear the tunnel framing. The rear mounting pad you would use with a home made adapter pad to mount the shifter to. There is another thread on this with a link to a...

That is exactly what I did. Instead of shimming out the adapter plate, I bent it giving the adapter plate an offset. Works great.

Output shaft on the transmission. It moves around a little..... Just want to know how much is too much.

How much is too much? With the driveshaft removed, how much should the output shaft move "up and down" or side to side if you will. Just want to make sure I do not have problems. Thanks!

Look right where the oil pan meets the block. My block plate rubbed this area enough to compromise the seal. I would make sure the block plate DOES NOT TOUCH THE OIL PAN!!

I had the same issue. Sucked having to fix it but it leaked just as bad as yours. Had to "nip" the block plate to prevent an encore event.
