    New Build Advice Needed

The 225 has a long stroke and a well-supported crank; it's a natural for super/turbo charging. I cannot recall ever seeing a pair of small turbos fit into the available space; the light-weight-A would really sing. Ok, that's my dream, lol.

Is a MP 509, 292 purple shaft a decent cam on a supercharged motor

I think they put that 292 cam in the 380 hp crate motors ..... which were independently tested at ~400hp,IIRC Almost right; the 380s had a 288/292/108 and 9/1 SCR

Is a MP 509, 292 purple shaft a decent cam on a supercharged motor

76* of overlap on the 108 version is a long long time to be blowing gas and air straight across the piston and out into the header pipes. What if it catches fire in there?

Anybody runnning a cent SC on a 383

And the lower deck fits a lil better in the A-bodies. And IIRC a stock-bore 400, with a 440 crank, and custom pistons, makes a 444 While the 383 and 440 crank can get you about 430 cubes. Connect the dots..badaBoom! Fat FAT midrange.

10.5 Scr and say a 262 Supercharger cam is gonna put your NA (Normally Aspirated) pressure up to maybe 180psi. So I can't see this working on pump gas even normally aspirated. By the time you add 10psiG you will be up to 14/1 Scr and that's pretty good .............. for E85 or LPG. To run...

Super charging my 67' 273 commando valiant

I can't comment, never having built a supercharged system. But I do know that installing 2.02 heads on a 273 is normally not advised because of valve shrouding. With a Super, this may not be an issue. Your Commando Heads are sub-60cc items IIRC, so almost anything you bolt on there is gonna...

Super charging my 67' 273 commando valiant

Or about to retire and try to survive until Judgement Day. No infirmity here, but you never know if satan will find a chink in my armor. Threescore and 10; fourscore if by reason of good health. That's 5 to 15 more for me, hardly worth starting another project. Whereabouts is Daygo? BTW nice...

Man, I'm sorry to hear you're hurting physically, and wish you all the best. Well, notadvice but Have you researched 10.5Scr and supercharging? I have never done it, but I know you can only run so much total cylinder pressure with iron heads, and; depending on the cam, 10.5 with a supercharger...

Paxtoned 416 won t fire with lid on when engine is cool

IDK anything about this set-up, but I do know that in order for the fuel to come out of the fuel circuits, there has to be more pressure in the bowl than at the butterfly. So I'm wondering if your throttle valves are open too far and the cranking is pulling air around the throttle valve with no...

What do you think the best power/drivability combo is?

Unless you spend a lot of time and money on the rear suspension and tires, even 375/400 blows the tires off, in second gear, at 50 mph, with 3.55s. That's an LA 367/ 230* cam, Eddies and 180psi. And same engine goes 93 in the 1/8th with a 2.44plus 60ft..........@3467 pounds. so I gotta wonder...

    Starting 340 Build w/ Supercharger

Ok you got my attention; What's your secret for street hooking? I have: Starter gears of 10.97,or13.29 ,or15.08 (3.55,4.30/4.88s and a 3.09 first gear), a CFII clutch, and up to at least 400hp/420ftlbs/crank. I have a GVOD,wired as a splitter, so I can carry that peak power out to about 40/45...

    Starting 340 Build w/ Supercharger

For a streeter, I don't see a manual trans as an advantage. Typically you are limited at WOT to 1.5 gears. And the trip to 60 with 430 plus hp is really quick. Take off will be the hard part; to co-ordinate the engines rpm with the clutch, to not overpower the tires. It will be all too easy to...

    Starting 340 Build w/ Supercharger

Sure you can blower that 340. If it means making your dream come true. But you're gonna need to spend some money on the chassis to get it to hook, cuz if it don't hook, you might be big-time disappointed. Cuz then it might as well be a teener. If you just want a cool looking ride and don't care...

    Starting 340 Build w/ Supercharger

I did the 292/108 thing in my 11.3Scr-367 for a summer, and it was dynomite from 5400 to 7000. In the end tho, that cam suffered in the lower Rs where I spent most of my time, and the 367 was not strong enough down there with 3.55s. I tried several different chunks I had laying around, but in...

    Starting 340 Build w/ Supercharger

Zachary A supercharged 416 is a great dream, but I wonder if it's practical. As a street car you have two problems; traction and speed limits. A 416 with a roots will just annihilate the tires and then it's over. A 416 will just annihilate the tires and then its over. A roots on anything will...

    Thermostat housing leaking

If you machine it flat, you may have to also machine the stat-receiver shelf. If left too shallow, the stat will cut the gasket, and prevent the sandwich from stacking flat; and that will cause the freshly machined housing to warp as soon as the bolts are tightened. Pressure test it before the...

Ebay twin turbo setup Checklist...Turbo a SBM for under $1000? :)

60,000 is just nicely broke in, just put a new double roller chain on it. Sneak up on the boost while you sneak down on the tune. But above all take those turbos apart and rebuild 'em before you bolt 'em on. China doesn't charge extra for the debris they ship along inside of them. That's...

You paid for that heat. You want to make it work for you. That means to keep it where it belongs, namely, in the chamber. If you get into detonation, aluminum heads is not the best answer.

    Choosing pistons

Yes and yes;the post was edited while you were typing. But you can probably run up to 360hp in the 8.0 factory holes, on 87. I have always wanted to run a teener on dual, staged turbos, a little one up front,to get things rolling and a bigger take-no-prisoners kindof guy remote-mounted,out back...

    Choosing pistons

Ok here's something else; you said My 367 goes Zero to 93 mph in 7.92 seconds with a 2.2 60ft. The speed limit around here is 100kph or a tic over 60mph.Guess how quick this car might be to 60 mph, if I spent some money to 60ft decent? I'm guessing that would be a low 5 seconds. Now try and...

    Choosing pistons

Evan, dome pistons and small chamber heads are backward for a turbo The less Scr you have, the more boost you can run. The more boost you run, the more power you can make. Sooner or later, the looooow Scr will become a problem off boost. So for a streeter, the trick is marry enough off-boost Scr...
