i recently installed the leaf brackets that allow me to lower it an inch so i'm at 3 1/2 these things don't settle down with mileage. other member here have used new (XHD) stock replacements and gotten anywhere from 2 3/4 - 3 1/2 and with the 1 inch lowering brackets you would be aty 2 - 2...

just adjustments really. if you have worn parts up front id recommend an overhaul

4 1/2 inches of gap from tire to fender. and if you don't have your front susp. set up for it ss leafs will throw that off.

As much as i have tried i have been not able to bring my self to start up the mini project of installing these bad boys. i wanted also disassemble my springs and de arch them a tiny bit. i will update as soon as i do this one. thanks again for all your help

ALRIGHT so i got them in the other day the hangers from link posted above. and just to double check i will get a lower ride height if i use the upper or lower holes on hangers? its the upper, correct?

FONT SHAKES? hmmmm..... wow still? this i s an old one. i have to re-read. suspects Upper control arms- tie rods - steering arm - pitman arm - idler arm - wheel bearings - bad wheels/tires? bad bushings somewhere? loose steering box? motor mounts? something had to be installed wrong...

YEAH , i understand. at first i really liked the stance but not would settle for stock replacement suspension. are those hangers that same ones on manicini's web site. (013) hangers. ? on the web site it says nothing about these providing a one inch drop so i want to make sure its the same...

okay so some time ago i switch my 1968 Barracuda Notch over from stock to SS leaf springs and drag shocks. my question to you guys is - can i deARCH the leafs and get a 1-2 inch drop even though i have longer drag shocks or would i be wasting my time and not get a lower heigh because of longer...

i understand. Im referencing the noise itself - more or so.

180 FT? not sure how tight this is but sounds tighter than finger tight. which is what i did- finger tight #5 little loose is better and a little tight. pack them good. i even pack the dust cap. if your tires/wheels are maladjusted alignment, camber, toe, etc. it will make that noise too FYI...

More Grease (good grease) is better than just enough. also might be bearing on rear end sometimes it sounds like it might be coming from front. pvc valve? tires?

FINISHED HER LAST NIGHT. after dragging because of the 109* heat SoCal people aren't used to this heat... But shes driving fine. Replaced the spindle, the brake pads, the Rotor, the studs, Bearings and Races and Washer, nut, cotter pin and packed a whole bunch of grease into it. great...

Yeah got a new rotor, new replacement spindle and new bearing. Installing now. Thank Jeff, we got this one for now. I'll get you on the next one

yes, can never use too much grease.

YEAH, good idea i would feel safer replacing all of it.

okay and bearing is cone shaped obviously so the bearings are pointed inwards towards the rotor correct?

so official term id brace? so its inner bearing -brace- ROTOR- outer bearing-brace washer-nut - castellated cup im looking at the rear of the rotor and it looks like there one in there but could also look like part of the rotor. dont meant to sound like a NOOB at all
