I got lucky, and bought an Offy unit from a member here. It didn't have the carb adapter, but that was fine with me. I have started the metal adapter. I need to do some more detailing, and I am not going lock in the adapter to carb position until I mount the intake on the car, to make pulley...

I am going to pick up the metal tomorrow to make the adapter. I have been dragging my feet to see if I could track down a 4 barrel intake, so I could build this setup once, and have the benefit of the intake itself should the supercharger not function. I cannot find a reasonably priced unit...

I need to make the plate at the back of the S/C itself that will receive the tubing. I am going to tack it together and test fit on the engine. get the metal to make the adapter. sheet gasket material. This should almost get the assembly off the bench and into the car. Then it will come...

Planned mounting position. Hoping an air cleaner will clear. Maybe a hat with a direct feed with a plenum intake feed from behind grille?

The good thing is the inside is NOT welded. This will allow me to tack the portion closest to the intake tube, then pie cut and bring down the diameter that is right under the carb. The tubing is 2.5 inches, the carb is 1.5 on the butterfly / venturi. I will trim some and squeeze it down...

I ordered a 2.5 mandrel bent donut (circle) from ebay. This allowed me to section a 1/4 section for the tightest possible bend from the base of the carb to the tube.

Streetable 12 second 20+ mpg slant six?

I think it can be done. Turbo + head porting + 4 barrel intake + blow through carb. Turbo allows you to make power for the 12's and easy throttle will keep the MPG up, provided it is geared properly.

Yeah, AussieSpeed is nice, but too rich for me. I want to keep the Dart Lite hood without cutting it up, so the top mount is not an option. Hopefully the draw through from the side works moderately well.

Supercharger was reported to be a 3.8 GM unit. Pics online seem to support that.

Planned layout of carburetor next to supercharger, in front of master cylinder. I have ordered a 2.5 tight bend that will connect to the bottom of the carburetor to the tubing that snakes around the back of the supercharger.

The triangle in the wood is an approximate shape of the opening on the underside of the supercharger, that is close to the size of the 1 barrel opening. It will allow me to position the discharge of the supercharger right above the opening of the intake. I have a 2 barrel intake that I have had...

I pulled the carb and studs. The supercharger appears that it will clear the dipstick nicely. I might have to do a a little trimming of the choke well on the exhaust manifold, and make a small extension for the bolt and nut that protrude through the intake manifold from the exhaust. I will...

The supercharger was given to me. I am going to see if I can make it draw-thru. I am going to pick up some plate steel at metal by the foot as an adapter / base. It needs to be big enough to bolt the supercharger to, and then bolt to the intake manifold. I have a 2 barrel unit that I might...

Bringing it back from the dead. The city decided it would look better in the front yard, then out back, under the deck. The car needed some work to wake it up: Carb (RockAuto), plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil. Fixed tail light wiring. Replaced headlight switch. The car is now running and...

Its not dead, just sitting in the garage. Admittedly, I am strongly considering abandoning the 6 and moving to small block combo. I have lead local on 360/727/8.75 A body with big bolt pattern. Really leaning towards picking it up, pulling out the running gear, and parting rest. I want...

Dear Gawd Bill, what are you doing up at this hour? I am only awake cause they pay me to be here, and you seem to be up at all hours?!!! I don't fancy myself a fabricator. The nice shop tools help, but I believe all of this could be done at home with basic tools. I have a couple more...

And now, to answer questions that I have overlooked. For now, I am going to stick with what I have. If it all proves to work, I might do a 2nd version on a spare slant 6 I have lying around. Good stuff. I plan on lower boost, 6 sounds like a decent number. I am still researching carb's...

Alright ladies and germs, tonight's update: I took a piece of 5 inch scrap stainless, and some wire. Using what is left of my math memory, I took 5" x 3.14 (Pi), to get the circumference of the 5" pipe. I did the same with my target collector diameter of 2.5 x 3.14. I cut a wedge piece...

Budget: In theory, same as before, but I will tweak for accuracy sake: I might have spent $15.00 for the fasteners, had I not worked in an industry where we have abundance of fasteners. I found all these in the company scrap bins, so they cost me nothing, but I will count them in for...

Sorry for the abundance of pictures, but the reason is two fold: It keeps me motivated, and I have always enjoyed threads of a DIY nature that included progress pictures, and not the final product only.
