Yep. He provided the paint and insisted it be used. Kid had a ****-ton of money in that thing (502 crate motor, 700R4, Dakota digital guages, and on and on...). Then insisted on JD implement paint.. I did what I could.. Super nice kid. Army Captain. Just wanted different. To each his own..

Painted a guys car with it. Came out real nice. Wet sand and buff the heck out of it, it looked great. Used no hardener. Haven't seen the car since so I have no idea how it's held up.

I've never done it. Plan to do several. Many on here have said it's a piece of cake. Search around and you'll find more tips than you'll need. I think a new gasket is a must thi.

To muddy the waters even more.. I have a 73 Sport with bad doors and a 73 Swinger with pristine doors. How much headache am I looking at to transplant the Sport guts-n-glass into a Swinger door?

X2! It's a crapshoot. Maybe it's fully gassed out and was prepped really well... Maybe it's not.. Might be simple.. Might suck balls. Check a spot.. go from there..

The bottle itself is probably 100 - 150 bucks. Most welding supply places will rent you the bottle for 5 - 10 bucks a month..

Watch for Hobart sales at Tractor Supply. They've had great machines for about 350 - 400 bucks. A bit more than HF stuff, but in a few months, I bet you'll be glad you did it.

I will work. But I think you'd be a way ahead to get a machine with a bottle..

I have a 73 Swinger with good doors and a 73 Sport with iffy doors. I have been told to just swap the glass and everything is good. I'll find out soon..
