    Chrysler /6 performance book dutra

penstarpurist, let me stir up controversy by saying that, IMHO, although the Slixer was a fantastic engine dependability-wise, the heads were originally designed for economy and Ma Mopar never redesigned them, so they need one hell of a lot of porting work if you want it to breathe well.

    Quickest ever with my Valiant

That is really great, Charrlie! I am jealous because I'm still trying to get my '62 V-200 (LA engine) to launch decently. But then again, I'm not too smart! I'll just have to keep trying. You must have your chassis and suspension really peaked and tweaked. Maybe I will PM you sometime to ask...

    225 Max Performance Recipe?

360 in a '62 Valiant V-200. Pretty tight fit. I want to go to the strip some day, after I get it all sorted out. (Famous last words!):

Hotrod Magazine Slant Six Build Up

I don't see anywhere in the article that Magnante is advocating 1/4" clearances, or 1/4" anything else. I think you're being too emotionally defensive.

Hotrod Magazine Slant Six Build Up

Dan, the "mistakes" that you have pointed out in Steve Magnante's article don't seem terribly significant to me. Why don't you give the man a little credit for being the diehard Mopar fan that he is, rather than hitting him over the head with a 2X4? Steve has paid his dues. It's not like he's...

    Milling for compression

I don't understand why you say this, Rusty. It would definitely change the angle at which the pushrods operate; that should be obvious. However, I am not saying it would change the pushrod angle too much for proper operation.

    Milling for compression

I think there is the additional issue of whether decking the block .1" would change the valvetrain geometry too much. I don't know this of my own experience, but I was told by a respected engine builder that this is often the limiting factor in decking a block.

looking for running slant 6 in arizona

I have an excellent 225 here in California that I'd like to sell, but nobody seems to want to pay a decent price for it. Therefore, I'm looking for an old, smog-exempt car in which to put it.

What kind of carbs and intake on this R Valiant?

Yeah, Mike, isn't that neat? I've got a 225 sitting in my garage for which I'd like to find a suitable implant recipient (it came out of my Valiant when I swapped in the 360 V8). It sure would be cool to hop up my slant six that way.

What kind of carbs and intake on this R Valiant?

Hi, there. Could you smart slant six guys please take a look at this YouTube video and tell me what kind of carbs and intake this guy is using? (I don't know too much about this stuff.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zzODTFqLTU And what is that gauge thingy in the engine compartment? I...

swapping out the ol' slant six for a 360

I've never been able to sell the 225 /6 that I removed from my '62 Valiant. It's still sitting in my garage. I'm looking for a suitable transplant recipient for the 225 now.
