Wonder if I can drill it out with the heads on.......if I have this problem? once I find the passage I'll be sticking a long drill bit down to confirm.

Pull the intake off, it's super easy and gaskets are cheap.

Just thinking about this, if I pull off my rocker shafts and turn over the motor with the starter I should have oil at the #2 & #4 rocker shaft pedestals........correct? This would confirm my cam bearings are lined up?

Mine are the older set, Oiled from #2 & #4 cam journals, up to rocker shaft, out two small holes in rocker. one towards pushrod and one towards valve roller.

Just put the valve train back together and it dosent look like I have very much oil coming up to the rollers, I'm using Norris rocker arms. Cones from # 2 & 4 cam journals right?

Well, after screwing up two rockers I called Chuck today at Norris. It almost sounds like he's working out of his garage or something, no email, no fax, no visa, no MasterCard! In order to get two rockers ($40.00 bucks each) I need to send him a cheque or money order. Just out of curiosity...

Mike, This 318 motor had four bolt motor mounts on both sides. From what I've been seeing on this site a sonic test defiantly sound be done on the 73 block, some have had good luck while others Haven't at .060.

I had a look at some small block mopars today and I have a few questions, 1) 1973 340 long block, stock rebuild, .060 over on the cylinders, X heads. Is this a usable block at .060? 2) 1969 340 short block, standard bore, forged crank, stock pistons. What's this worth? 3) 318 truck block...

So because this motor has a W what kind of car did it come from as you only list B, R, & E? Or am I confused?

As noted above, I hate the solid roller valve train (yes I know they are the best). I also am not a fan of headers (been there done that several times, several brands). The W2 heads are great but you can't bolt factory manifold to them (I believe there is an adapter out there). My goal with this...

Wow wouldn't think it would be a 50 hp diff. I know the w2 heads are specific but I do have the x's I could use. Looks like the six pac, x heads and stock exhaust manifolds will really choke up a stroker, on the other hand the extra cubic inches would help it out perform a stock 340!
