Thanks will do. The previous owner kept meticulous records and the transmission lost reverse in 1992. It’s overdue a rebuild. Dustin

I had swapped the original 273 out with a rebuilt one around 7 years ago and left the transmission In place. Bought a new front seal but didn’t replace it as the old one looked fine. Been driving for about 7 years and maybe 3-4K miles.

Gushing wild be overkill, it is leaving a steady stream on the ground when driving, and burning on the exhaust. I should have said the transmission shifts and drives as usual besides the leak.

My 65 Dart 273 auto didn’t have them when I pulled the engine. But the 66 Dart 273 4 barrel auto car did I parted with.

I got my driveline shortened at a shop for the new 8.75. Cost 100$ and they painted it black.

Maybe your next project will be a 4spd in there can snap shift all you want.

No it comes with the cable for the transmission kickdown. You’ve gotta buy the throttle cable also.

I’ve had some bearings so bad I could shake the rear of car while on ground and here them clunk. If you said they seemed fine I’d be more incline to remove your 742 for a closer look

Hmm my rearend made a clunk noise on turns with a suregrip and green bearings. I had to remove the thrust button out of pumpkin. Have you given your rear of vehicle a good shake check the axle bearings?

Are you running the adjustable axle bearings or the green bearings?

Do you have to run a SFI flywheel? I have a T56 magnum for my 408 and have a MP flywheel from a previous project.

If your going to move up from an 8.75 might as well go with a Dana 60. Just my 2 cents Dustin
