Gotcha. I had a swap meet guy tell me that Barracuda windshield trim is unique to the car and won't fit anything else. He was trying to sell me a set for $500!! I know the rear is unique. This is the first Mopar I've ever worked on, so I guess i had better learn more before I hit the next swap.

It has crossed my mind to paint my '69 'Cuda a flat or matte finish. It was originally red, and I'd like to stick with that general color. Anyone have any pics of a Cuda in a matte finish? Besides grey primer? It's a drag car, so I'm not worried about a perfect paint job. :burnout:

I have a 69 Barracuda and I've been trying to patch the trans tunnel. I've tried 3 different A-body tunnels from the early 70's. None are the same as mine. Mine is more narrow and shallow. I'm guessing the 68-69 floor pans are unique. Anyone else know?

My torsion crossmember was hacked up by some wingnut who didn't know how to work in cars. The part that's missing is where the floor was cut out for a 4-speed hump. My question is: should I splice a section of crossmember from another car into mine, or just replace the whole crossmember? The...

I've done sheet metal screws before on my drag cars and they hold up just fine. Some pro cars use fasteners, even. I'm thinking of fabbing up a hump on my 'cuda, so I can eventually put the 4-speed back in it.

I measured the torsion bar brace I was given, and the measurements were off. Were there differences in the 64-66 A-bodies versus the 67-73 A-bodies? The brace seems to be about an inch less in width than mine. :banghead:

My fear is having it too hot or going too fast and ruining my parts. Since 69 Barracuda grill surrounds are almost impossible to get, I don't want to screw anything up.

Anyone here do plastic welding? I thought of trying to fix my plastic grill surrounds myself with a plastic welder, but I'm not sure if it works or not.

Oh well. I figured someone did some hacking on this car. At least I don't have to deal with any rust.

Bummer. The floors in my car are in pretty good shape too! Just parts of the trans tunnel were cut out. Does the 1-piece floor have the braces attached?
