    67 pitman arm question

Lol no sir, I have the correct 67 $150 idler arm with studs on both ends. I was just questioning the slight "rock" or up and down play when I shake the wheels.

    67 pitman arm question

It is original 67 k member. I knew the 68s were totally redesigned for the better since I have 2 68s myself. But as Jim lusk noted, I don't have the thick washer on top under the castle nut. I'll do that tomorrow

    67 pitman arm question

I noticed that the brand new pitman arm I put on my wife's 67 cuda has "up and down" play. I purchased another brand new one (next to impossible) and it is sloppy as well. Is this a common problem on 67s? Maybe why that's why mopar changed the pitman arms in 68 huh. Thanks

    Front end wont stay aligned

And by the way, I'm using the shops old but good Hunter alignment machine. It was recently recalibrate and works great, dads boss just wanted to upgrade to a newer laser machine.

    Front end wont stay aligned

I haven't got a chance to crawl under it yet because I'm putting my motor back together in my car right now. I think I will start by realigning, marking cam bolts and give it a go again. I think Rusty is on target. Of course I will double check for cracks in k member first.

    Front end wont stay aligned

I'm going to do a thorough review on the k frame tomorrow. I put new eccentric bolts in because the last alignment we tightened one so tight we snapped one, probably out of frustration. But I will do the dimple trick, and mark everything. I had it on my mind to mark them but would always forget to.

    Front end wont stay aligned

The top of the wheels go way in. And the front of the car will drop an inch I have bounced the front of the car until the wheels came off the ground, no noises or creaks at all. It will make a slight clunk when it acts up going down the road.

    Front end wont stay aligned

All the steering components are tight. I have rocked the wheel back and forth while dad looked under the car at everything. I'm going to tear it back apart again soon and will let you guys know what I came across. Gotta be something simple somewhere...

Good idea. Will do that on the eleventh alignment. Lol

    Front end wont stay aligned

Yes lol. I actually put another set of brand new lower ball joints on with no success. I put new ones on my 65 coronet one time and 2 months later I had to replace the passenger side.

    Front end wont stay aligned

Ok thanks guys. And yes EVERYTHING is new. Moog or Napa parts I put the new style replacement strut arm bushings in, the cone style one piece. I didn't like the looks of them from day one but used them anyway. I kept the old ones, may put them in for kicks and giggles. Just don't know how it...

When we are finished, it...

Whats better Manual steering or Power?

MANUAL! Im only 5'6 and 160 pounds but I love the feel of manual steering, bias plied, stiff clutch 4 speed mopar! I run manual steering and 4 speeds in everything I got, even my daily driver 77 f-250.
